The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling

They are doing a good job with the therapy services. The staff care is good but I wish they'd try to use the bedpan. It looks clean but the only thing I see is that the rooms seem outdated. They could use some bright colors. The communication is pretty good. When I can't make it up there, my mom calls and the nurses talk to her.

My uncle can be demanding and short but the staff has been pretty good. The person at the front desk is fantastic. The social worker returns my calls but I have called the supervising nurse three times, and they did not call me. He was in extreme pain and they do not return my calls for his pain. He also had issues with his special diet. He was supposed to be discharged and I was not comfortable with that and I need to find out the next step.

Overall, everything was good.

It's been good. The aides are fantastic, they really go out of their way for all the patients. I have received calls from the social worker and Physical Therapist.

My loved one's room is dated and the elevators are dirty. The hallways are not so great. They do a very good job in his room. They mop every day. He gets a cold grilled cheese. Lunch at 10:30 am and dinner at 6 pm. That was in the beginning and they may be better now. I spoke to the director of the rehab and the therapist is very nice and thorough.

They tell me that my loved one is doing therapy. Depending on each nurse the care is different. They are all friendly. Overall they are not my favorite.

The director of nursing she is the only that we have had a concern with. Everything else is great and everyone else has been so helpful!

They have a great staff working there. I just had a loved one there and it was a very comforting experience.

Not so sure I agree with this statement : "Whether you are here for an extended stay or just for short term rehabilitation, we have no doubt that our amiable, attentive personnel and our tastefully decorated environment will provide those extra touches that will turn your stay with us into an experience that is truly Grand." Tastefully decorated the Grand is definitely NOT, especially the patient rooms. They are old school and dark and dreary. The lobby looks great and so does the rehab -- now the rest of the building needs a facelift. How long does it take to get an elevator installed and working ? And how about some new tile in the elevator? GROSS ! Not sure how often the cleaning staff actually get in a patient's room to clean but many times I have seen dust bunnies under my dad's bed. Although the staff that does work especially the aides and nurses, I have to commend them for their determination to take care of patients under these not so great conditions. I feel like they are ALWAYS shorted staffed at night and on weekends. Not sure if administration is aware but someone should take a good look at the place at night and on weekends.

This place has many staffing problems. The good staff that work there try their best, but it is difficult. Physical Therapy is very good but many residents have infections like c-diff and MRSA. I would not send a friend or loved one there, until they solve their problems.

Awful - total lack of care. Physical therapy was not provided at all for the time there although that was the exact reason for being there. My father was never taken out of his room or bed unless my family got him out of bed. Call bells left unanswered for over an hour, rooms not cleaned regularly if at all, terrible! In my opinion they turn patients into victims.

The staff have excellent communication. The cleanliness is excellent. The meals look good too.

I would recommend The Grand at Pawling.

My wife loves the rehab and it is working. She hates the food though.

My grandmother seems really content and to settling in. Everybody seems really friendly. I was waiting in the hallway today with my grandmother, and 2-3 people stopped to say hi and to ask if we needed help. I am happy with the therapists. She hasn't complained at all about the nursing care. Her room is clean and her bed is always made.
