Again, very impressed with engaged staff. Original tour guide not available and it appears I was unexpected, but they were flexible and accommodating with giving me a tour and answering my questions. They arranged for me to see both their Independent Living and Assisted Living complexes. Nice and clean facility. 3-meals. No ice machine. No recliners in Theater. A bit far from my parents' Weslaco comfort zone.

My wife had reached the point in her life where she could not take care of herself. She was confused, had memory loss, could not communicate and wanted to be outside. I could not take care of her and was afraid that she would walk outside and get lost. I looked for an assisted living with memory care facility. The Gardens at Brook Ridge was mentioned as the best facility by people whom I trust. I contacted [name removed] and made an appointment. My wife and I visited several times. [name removed] and all the staff were very professional and caring. I noticed during the visits that my wife was very comfortable there. Estella and all the staff treated all the residents with wonderful care and sensitivity. My wife has been there for a month now. I, our daughter, and friends have noticed that my wife is again the person that we had not seen in a very long time. We are so grateful to have her back. She, again, is a delight to be with. She has excellent nutrition, activities to engage her mind and excellent medical care. From what I have seen, all the staff there treat my wife, all the residents, and visitors with respect and excellent care. We are so grateful for facilities like the Garden with caring people like [name removed] and all the staff during this difficult and heartbreaking time in our lives. We are so grateful to have the person we have known for so long back in our lives. If you need similar care, please contact [name removed]. My contacting her changed our lives for the better.

Our parents have been living at the Gardens for almost three years, and they are very happy there. The care for them is exceptional, their apartment is kept clean, the food is delicious (I love it) and most of all, they track and give out the medications so there are no mistakes. We hit the jackpot when they moved in and it's been great ever since. The Gardens has lots of activities when people choose to go, and still a lot of free time. The residents congregate in the Bistro in the afternoon for snacks and coffee, and conversation. Having their own apartments is a blessing for those who would like to have their own space. This place is so great, I would live here!!

The highlight of The Gardens assisted living facility in Pharr, Texas is the cheerful and helpful nature of the people who work there. My mother has been a resident since its inauguration, sharing a beautiful, brightly-lit, one-bedroom corner apartment on the second floor with her pet cat. The Gardens is well managed, practically brand new, and an excellent place for an elderly loved one needing special assistance in their daily needs to reside. Maintenance and housekeeping are first rate. A particularly nice feature of The Gardens is the way a resident’s assistance plan is individually tailored to fit their needs. In that way, the cost of care is stepped or tiered, depending on the level of care each resident requires. Residents carry RF call buttons (her’s is on a pendant around her neck, along with her electronic room key key and mailbox key), to signal the staff that she is requiring some sort of help at that moment. Within minutes someone is there to help her with her needs. Communication with management is excellent. The nursing staff keeps up with her medication needs and assists in coordinating doctor visits. Transportation is available to doctor visits and trips to local stores. Activities are planned throughout the day. Residents are encouraged to join in, but are free to participate as they choose. I cannot imagine a better place than The Gardens for my mother to be spending this stage of her life where she needs a bit of help with her day-to-day needs. Highly recommended.

My 95 year old father has been living at The Gardens At Brook Ridge in Pharr, Texas for over three years and my family members and I have been pleased with his care. The administrative staff, specifically [name removed] and [name removed], are very kind to my father and are always friendly and professional. The rest of the staff treat my father with respect and compassion and take the time to listen to him. I highly recommend The Gardens At Brook Ridge in Pharr, Texas.

Our Mother has lived at The Gardens for a little over 2 years. It has become a wonderful home for her. She participates in many daily activities and has made great friends with fellow residents as well as staff. The staff employees have been wonderful to her. She receives the right level of care and attention everyday. She is very content at The Gardens and so are we, her children.

I have no complaints about how things are going for my mother since she has made the move into this community. The staff have been wonderful to her and I could not have picked a better group to care for her while she is there. My mom has been very active in many of the activities and staying busy throughout her day. I am very pleased with this place and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The Gardens at Brook Ridge is a great community, I highly recommend them because the place is very nice and has treated my mother very well. The meals provided are portioned well, and very nutritious. The place is always very clean and well maintained. They offer a mixture of activities, and even though my mother has not partaken in any yet, she knows they are available to her.

I only went to The Gardens to inquire information and they were just too expensive. The people at the front desk seemed friendly. The place was clean and looked very good. No one ever reached out to me, though.

There is a doctor that comes to the community on Fridays. My loved ones are now receiving more medical care than before and this is good. They also get complimentary transportation two times a week to doctor's appointments. All of the staff are friendly and follow up with them often. There are 3 healthy meals being provided to them. I also like that they provide church services, bingo, and movie nights for them. This is a wonderful place with above and beyond care.

This is a great community for good care. We are happy with the food, but we would like to see more of a home setting and not a restraunt setting. The dining area needs to be cleaned a little better after meals. More activities should be available for others. Great value and highly recommended for others and loved onces.

Since moving Mom into the Gardens I've had to increase the level of care to ensure she is getting the proper attention but things have been really good! The facility itself is beautiful and the residents seem to be very happy. I've actually recommended the place since she's moved in and Mom's best friend will be moving in next!

This assisted living place is brand new and the faculty itself is beautiful! Very modern! But because it is so brand new there isn't any beautiful gardens or landscaping or trees. Seemed very barren on the outside. It was very quiet and not too much activity going on. It was a little depressing due to the fact that you didn't see people out and about. We arrived at about 1:00pm and had hoped to see people in the dining area but there was no one there. They offer many nursing services though and may be a good place for someone who requires a lot of assistance. The apartments are beautiful and modern. But no balconies or patios. Nothing pretty to look at outside.

My mother in law is living at The Gardens at Brook Ridge and they have been really good. She does complain sometimes about them not suiting her requests for medications and not handling her request in the friendliest most professional way possible. She wants it when she wants it and they are not always willing to accommodate. It is a very nice place though and overall things have gone very well.

Response from The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care
October 2, 2015It's great to hear your mother in law is happy at The Gardens and is enjoying our brand new building. I am sorry she has had a less then perfect experience with staff handling her medications and needs there, and I will be sure to pass this on for our Team to improve. If there is anything else we can do to further improve or make her experience better, please let us know.
They have a very helpful staff! Also, my mom wants there to be more consistent bingo games since they cancel if there's less than two people. Also, the beautician is very strict about her hours, so if she works on four residents and you're fifth in line, you won't get service; several times I've had to take her to a salon rather than her getting her hair done there.

Response from The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care
October 2, 2015Thanks for sharing your mom's feedback. We hope she is enjoying The Gardens and the many amenities it offers. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make her experience even better.
The Gardens at Brook Ridge is a brand new facility so it's very clean. Everyone is nice, friendly, and welcoming. They are doing a good job. They have a few rough edges that they are working out. The activities that they offer are not very well attended. My loved one has been in there 5 weeks. I eat lunch with her everyday and get to see the place very well. The Gardens at Brook Ridge is a really nice place.

Response from The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care
June 3, 2015We are happy to hear your experience has been positive and thank you for sharing with us. If there is anything we can do to make your grandmother's experience even better, please let us know. Our residents and their loved ones are our number one priority.
We signed mom up to get in The Gardens at Brook Ridge back in May, and they have not been very good at communicating what is going on. Things have been continually delayed, and I have to go in or call to find out as they never contact me proactively. On the good side, it is a beautiful place and has everything that someone in that situation would need.
