The Courtyards staff feel like family. They truly care about the residents and their families. Staff participates in fun activities like Luaus, Holiday meals and events corresponding to those Holidays. They have an activities director that organizes in facility activities and events--like Bingo, ring toss, "axe" throwing, canvas painting, special seasonal crafts like making door wreaths, wood reindeer heads, sock snow people and even tie-dying. Musicians are brought in as are a local Mennonite choir. Outside of the facility, those residents who are mobile are taken out to lunch in town, to our local casino, the county fair, etc. My mom, who has dementia, still understands that she is in a caring place. She has expressed to me several times that she feels safe and loved. As with any assisted living facility we checked out and were able to afford, sometimes staffing is low, especially on weekends. The carpeting probably could be replaced; it's pretty worn down, but it is vacuumed regularly and heavily steam cleaned a few times per year. The food is good--I've eaten a few times there with my mom. The menu items remind me of school lunch menus in which sometimes there are a lot of starchy foods together. I'm sure there are regulations for food service in any facility serving residents. If a resident really doesn't want to eat what's on the menu, they can ask for a sandwich or soup, salad or baked potato. Their dining area is like a restaurant; the diners are served their drinks and asked if they want the "special" for the day; if they would like a half order, or would like some of the items left off their plate. My family had been very pleased with The Courtyards and have recommended it to several friends. Many of those friends have placed their lives one here, and all have been very happy with the decision.... Read more

The manager over the facility had double standards of what she accepted. Her 8 week old puppy ran through the facility unsupervised would go potty on the carpet. she then would tell us my mom's dog was going potty in the room. we used a blacklist and did not find this was true. the manager then decided they were evicting my mom without just cause. the manager got angry and walked out.

I like the personal touch with it being a smaller family type facility. Staff is great! You get a great feeling that they really care, not only about your parents , but also what's going on with the whole family. I do feel that the food needs some improvement. I do love the dining room setting. It is very home like cozy. I have such a good feeling every time I walk thru those doors. Their great care is round the clock, not just when family comes to visit. I would 100% recommend this facility to others.

Activities at Claremore Courtyard are varied and done to please most any resident with something. For my Mom, the crafts and bingo are the highlights for her. She LOVES having her projects around her apartment. For my Granny, it was the trips to the Racino. She loved the opportunity to eat out, leave ‘home’, and play games. For some of the men (and several women) watching the horses brought back many happy memories of earlier times. It is great to see the residents laughing and enjoying themselves…Great job [name removed] and staff!

Mom has lived at COC for 3 years, after years at another Assisted Living. She loves COC, it’s her home, where she laughs everyday with Friends & staff she considers family. I love COC, because the staff loves her and the management team has created a working environment with low turnover, resident centered focus & fun. COC is a jewel & I want to live there myself if I live enough.

The only thing that my mom experienced that is not fantastic would be there is not a super robust menu choice on the meals, it is pretty limited. Everything else including the care they provide has been great. The staff are great to work with and definitely care about my mom. They are proactive and the healthcare side of things is something they have been very dedicated to. I would definitely recommend The Courtyards at Claremore to others looking
Miller Hospice partners with The Courtyards occasionally to care for their patients. I can tell you from the clinical side that they take awesome care of their patients. The staff is not only very knowledgeable, but they are kind and very easy to work with.

I attended the Thanksgiving meal served to residents and their guests. It was a delicious meal and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. The tables had a lovely fall decoration and the event was extremely well attended by family and other guests. I have always found the staff very supportive of us, the family members, as well as offering great assistance for our loved one.

My father is a resident in the memory care wing. He enjoys the meals, activities, guest performers, and our walks outside. I’m pleased to know he is secure behind passcode doors. His physician team have dialed in his medications to an optimum level to allow for his fullest enjoyment of life possible.

The staff of The Courtyards at Claremore are genuinely caring and respectful and helpful with their care of not only the residents there, but the resident’s families as well. They all go above and beyond all the expectations that one may have in regards to deciding to place loved ones in this facility. The atmosphere just walking in is full of the love and warmness the staff here demonstrate. It’s really home away from home.

My brother and I are very pleased with The Courtyards as the new home for our parents. The director and other staff have been helpful on every level. The atmosphere is cheerful and inviting. Whatever the season, the outside and entry into the building are decorated, and music is often playing. My mom has dementia; my dad has some mobility issues. They are both in the memory unit because of my mom. Their room is divided into a bedroom with nice sized walk-in closet, and a living room/kitchen area and a nice sized bathroom off to the sides. Rooms, including the bathroom, are cleaned weekly and laundry is also picked up weekly for them. Medications are brought to them both. My parents love the food! Of course, once in awhile there might be something that is not as good as usual, but that even happens at home from time to time. I have eaten a meal there with them and it was very good! The dining area looks more like a restaurant than a cafeteria, and a staff member comes to each table to take their orders. If an item on the menu is not desirable, the cook will fix a sandwich, soup, baked potato or breakfast food. Entertainment is brought in regularly-usually singers and musicians. In chair exercises are held each week day for those who want to attend. There is an activity room with directed activities as well as puzzles left for residents to wander in and work on at their leisure. A couple of times each month, a crafty person will come and lead the residents in activities such as painting on canvas or tie-dying. Bingo is offered almost every day with prizes of pop, candy or paper goods. Communication with the family is great, the facility is clean, and price is all inclusive and comparable to other facilities. They also have a little beauty salon/barbershop. Again, we're very pleased with The Courtyards!

I go to Memory Care twice a week to check on a patient and help with his care at the request of his family. I help with bathing him and keeping his hair cut. I have had the pleasure of getting to know one of the charge staff in Memory Care and have watched her as she has given such wonderful care to these precious patients. The Director and Director of Nursing along with their staff are doing a great job.

He is thriving in here. He has gained weight where I didn’t even think he could. He loves the girls that take care of him. I take him home with me every day. They always have him ready. They are friendly and are so good with him. He is never upset about going back.
