My husband and I were in need of a place for my mom and loved The Commons on our first visit! [name removed]was absolutely wonderful on our tour. We decided to become a member of their community soon after. Sadly, my mom became ill and was not able to move in when expected. She entered under Comfort Care and spent her last days with the amazing care and comfort of everyone involved with her case. We only wished she could have moved in sooner to enjoy this amazing facility! We are so grateful to have made arrangements with The Commons, and we so enjoyed my mom’s short stay there.... Read more

Overall it was average. Admin was supportive, but staff were not the best. Some were very good, but many didn't care. The admin staff talked a good game and were very friendly, but then handed her to staff who didn't care. My mom's phone was stolen and no one cared or did anything. She passed within a week of that happening.

I had multiple things happen to my parents at the same time which turned our family care plan upside down. Commons at Dallas Ranch worked quickly, within a matter of a few days, to help me get my dad placed in this facility. I found all the staff very compassionate, understanding, and willing to help me with my situation. They also put me at ease during a very emotional and stressful period of time. I would highly recommend Commons at Dallas Ranch be on your short list.

February 27, 2024Thank you very much for your high recommendation of The Commons at Dallas Ranch! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with our dedicated team and the friendly community of residents. We truly appreciate your support and trust in us.
They're very friendly and the facility is very clean and nice. It's been an overall great experience. I didn't understand when we first interviewed that none of their staff is licensed health professionals except maybe the Director. So that would be my only suggestion is making sure people know that it's only assisted living and that any skilled nursing care needs to be outsource

Our team is dedicated to providing the best care within our community, and we'll make sure future communications clearly outline that specialized medical care needs to be arranged externally. Your insight helps us improve, and we're grateful for it.
I would not recommend anyone to that facility. My mother d=fell 3 times, I paid for 8 visits from their CNA's but I did not get 8. I was with my mother more than once and after she pushed her button it took at least an hour to cone check on her never 8 visits. The medical nurse did not give my mother her antibiotics ordered by the emergency room doctor, I had to take her back to the hospital. On the weekends they only had 3 CNA workers to help over 100's of residence. After 13 days I took my mother out of there because they told me my mother did not hurt herself when she fell but I have pictures if injuries. They had good food and it was very clean

Everyone is very nice, kind, and helpful. Always available. Seem compassionate. They make you feel welcome! I think the activities need to have more variety and maybe more people would want to participate.

December 21, 2023Thank you so much for your kind words about our community and our dedicated team. We are so happy to hear that we've been the right fit for you. Your thoughts are very much appreciated, and we'll make sure to pass along your feedback about the activities.
They are good, but not outstanding. Some staff are great and others are just there to get a paycheck. I would recommend considering the facility, but I would not tell anyone they should go there. The food is the best part of their service. The facility is oriented towards Assisted Living and not for invalid care. Hospice helps for some, but if your loved one is not very mobile, then careful consideration about this facility should be made.

Our family had an in person tour with The Commons at Dallas Ranch and we thought the the tour experience as well as the staff were very nice and did answer all of our questions.
My family and loved one have had an average experience with the community. It would be nice to have better staff communication with the family. There are meals and activities to assist with the residents socialization.

The people at The Commons at Dallas Ranch are so extremely caring, everybody there knows our loved one by name and whenever we come to visit they know us by name. They are always engaging and interacting with her and with us. They do a really nice job of encouraging our loved one to get involved in activities such as their knitting group. We would definitely recommend this community to families based on our experience so far.

Response from The Commons at Dallas Ranch
August 18, 2022Thank you so much for sharing your experience with The Commons at Dallas Ranch. We appreciate hearing how welcoming, engaging, and friendly you find the community. It's our genuine pleasure to be of service and provide residents, families, and guests an environment in which they are completely at home and can thrive.
Our family had an in person tour and all the people were nice, the community was nice, but we just did not like the fact our loved one would have a shared bathroom
It's a safe environment. They are very personable and organized. You can tell they care about their residents. In the memory care area, the staff do a great job of keeping the residents engaged. I would recommend you go take a tours but take a few tours and do so during different times. You will get different experiences during different times. Weekdays have more staff that are there versus the weekends.

While my mother-in-law's stay was short, we couldn't have asked for kinder care givers, a cleaner facility, and more pleasant surroundings.

During the transitioning of my mom to The Commons at Dallas Ranch we experienced hiccups which caused me to question if I made the right choice. However, some of the staff went above and beyond to make things right and once my mom moved in I was convinced that The Commons was the right choice. The administration, dining crew, Med techs, and housekeeping staff are professional and take pride in their work as evidenced by the great outcomes. And they care for my mom in a kind and compassionate manner. My mom has shared with me that she is happy at The Commons and our family has shared with me that my mom seems much happier since moving into The Commons.

My frail mother insisted she was perfectly able to take care of herself at home. As long as my sister moved in with her and cooked, shopped, and cleaned on top of my sister working full time as a cardiac nurse. In spite of my sister's care, mother ended up in the ER from falls, dehydration, and adjusting her own meds. The dutiful daughter was exhausted. So our other sister and I decided to check out the assisted living facilities in the area. As soon as we saw the cleanliness of the Commons, drank their coffee, and toured a beautiful airy apartment, we knew it wouldn't be as hard a sell as we had feared. Mom moved much of her furniture into the two bedroom apartment and it became home. She's safe, well cared for, and well fed. Now she goes to scheduled medical appointments on the Commons shuttle. And now my sister takes her on picnics and birdwatching. Any negatives? Mom complains about the food. I eat it when I visit. I think it's very good. We should have done this earlier.
