The Broadmoor was sold about 3 months after I started living there. The place was run down, meals were terrible when I first settled in, then it went down hill from then on.

My loved one was not in Broadmoor long. I quickly found out they are not trained to really do much direct patient care. And didn't. Want to. Just a few even tried you could see they didn't want to do hands on care. Some tried to be nice but others were rude at times. I found that they would let her light go for very long periods of time. She called me several times crying because she was wet or sick and no one would answer her light. I tried several times to reach someone to go help her and could not get anyone to even answer the phone. . I had to go out myself. So I would not refer anyone that needed much help. Maybe shower asst. Dressing, something simple.

The employees were friendly. The meals were sometimes served up cold. Often the menu was changed last minute. The owners are looking to sell. There were little to no activities. When something was scheduled, more often than not the activity was delayed by hours or just canceled. My loved one didn't feel comfortable there. I hope this saves someone else the heartache and stress of making a second move so close together. After everything that was promised, we were very disappointed. One other thing to add - when I called to speak with the director several times, he finally called me back after about the 5th message. This is no way to run a business. Let alone a retirement community.

This was our 2nd choice. There are doing remodeling of the building, and the location wasn't as close to family a we wanted.
It is reasonably priced - not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Everything that we needed for our loved one they have gone above and beyond to provide. It is an older facility but everything in our loved ones apartment looks very new, it has a large walk in closet. The staff members are extremely friendly as well.

We chose The Broadmoor because they had quick availability and they were able to accommodate our special needs. The apartment sizes at the facility are good and plenty for what they need. I do think they could have more variety on the menu, they said it can get repetitive. It is really nice that they have the laundry facility as well as the ability to have someone to come pick up their laundry for them if needed/wanted. If the staff can help they definitely do and overall I would recommend to others looking.

The value compared to other communities is very, very good. The staff really focuses on trying to make the residents feel comfortable. and go above and beyond. The community is very responsive, but I would like to see them initiate more contact. I would recommend this community to others.

This community is always nice and clean. The food is great she gets 3 meals a day in a nice dining area. She loves to get involved with the activities like bingo, Movie night and they take them out to stores on the bus. They have a little fitness room and they play Wii bowling. The grounds are well maintained. The staff is nice and helpful. I would recommend this community.

A Place for Mom has scored The Broadmoor 5.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
