They have a nice plan. In terms of the area of Waco, I probably would recommend them so far to a friend. I checked them out myself and was recommended this facility by the therapists and doctors. Given the choice, I would prefer that the staff is taking care of the patients rather than answering the phone. I did try about 15 times yesterday to get through. Before 5 it seems to be easier.

My main concern with my wife's experience at The Brazos of Waco is the staff. We had run-ins with the different higher up positions and those experiences were problematic. There seems to be a problem with the way they communicate as well as their attitude in general. I would not recommend The Brazos to a friend.

My father's stay really improved since he first arrived. In the beginning, he just did not want to be there but since then he has really started to enjoy himself. He has especially appreciated the therapy and seems to be coming along just fine. Based on what he has mentioned they are doing a great job. I have not seen the services myself but he is getting a lot out of them and he is enjoying them at the same time. My dad is loving the staff! Whenever I have any questions I go right to the main desk and they have been very good about answering any questions I have had. Also, I would like to mention that they are very good about coming whenever he presses his call light.

I love the environment. It's really great and the people there are amazing! My loved one's plan of treatment is really good. They are having to take it easy on her, but the therapists seem to be doing great with the upper body. I love the fact she takes her medicine with her three meals a day. I have heard no complaints whatsoever from her. The day area is really clean. They let me know about every little thing.

The stay at the Brazos has been really good. I don't think mamma agrees because she is in such a rush to get home but we have been very satisfied with the experience so far! The therapy services have been great for her and she is making good progress. To me, I think the meals have been very good. When I was visiting I happened to try a turkey sandwich she had been served and I thought it was delicious! They could be better with their communication.

It just depends on what nurse is there. My loved one had roast beef for lunch and chicken salad for dinner, and I would have swapped it around. The heaviness of the lunch made physical therapy harder.

Things like towels and Kleenexes have been difficult to keep around. Overall though, the staff are good. They are making a good impact. The physical therapy folks have been really fantastic. They have been really helpful. It's very clean. The rooms are all very tidy and well-lit. It looks well decorated. My biggest complaint is the remotes, they just aren't very friendly for older folk. I have had to seek all the information from them. Every bit of it.

I've had to discuss some things that should be taken care of without a reminder to the staff, such as changing a person at regular intervals. I think these things will improve as she's been there longer and the staff gets to know my loved one better. The therapists are doing a good job. They're trying to get her back to her baseline and they're working very hard. The meals are fine. The coordination of how they are served are below standards. I think when they get to know me and my wife more they'll talk to me more and communicate with me. Right now I don't think they know us well enough to communicate with us. They are giving us good information on feeding times and what the activities are. We just don't get enough information on when the staff is going to be available for us to talk to about her medical care.

There are several things not going well at this point. First of all, they are understaffed - mainly at night and sometimes during the day. Also, there is a 20 to 25-minute wait before they can help my loved one to the bathroom. They are having a problem with the food as well. He is on a regular diet and they have been feeding him the mashed I do not understand why they are doing this. The communication has actually been pretty good throughout.

It was not good. They told me about the medicine and the nurse did not write down when my mom was supposed to have her medications. They were rude to us and they gave my mom her medications wrong. My mom got along with her roommate. They brought some nurses in who were good to my mom. They were not very friendly when we left. When we were leaving one of the staff apologized and said they were going through changes. There were a few who were friendly.
