TerraBella Riverplace

My husband and I moved into Riverplace in September, 7 years ago. We both have been exceptionally pleased and will be here for the duration.

Riverplace is a wonderful place. It is very friendly. I would highly recommend it.

Life is good here, I'm a retired army veteran and I had a stroke over a year ago and it changed my whole life as for what I was able to do. Riverplace was a pleasant surprise. I immediately felt welcomed and at ease here. They have a well trained, professional staff!

I enjoy it here and would recommend it to anyone.

Riverplace offers me everything I need to be very happy. Staff is knowledgeable, food is great. Lots of activities. I would highly recommend Riverplace. Riverplace is my 3rd place to live. I wished I had checked it out at first.

I have really enjoyed living here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is also clean. We have a garden area and I have really enjoyed planting and cleaning the area.

We did a good bit of looking before we placed my father in law, and have been so happy we found Riverplace. They have been so great with the transition both my father in law and our while family.They problem solve on a multi dimensional level. The care is not one size fits all. Riverplace is such a caring place. A real weight has been lifted off our family knowing he is at Riverplace.

The facility has some good qualities and looks well maintained. Menus are not followed consistently and frequent carb loaded, cheap menu substitutions are made. Portion sizes are extremely small and undercooked meat has been served. This was brought to the attention of management by a family member. Management was defensive instead of trying to listen and problem solve. Management also stated posting a factual review would be a threat. Some residents feel the laundry sheet and towel service is unusable as heavily soiled items (feces), sheets and towels, are allegedly placed in larger communal loads. New management who is responsive to feedback could help. Also, if residents could preorder meals the day before there would be no need to provide food substitutions. A lot of other similar facilities handle meal orders this way. I am concerned management may not be kind and caring if residents recieve the same type of responses as family members do. This facility has the potential to be excellent. It all comes down to getting the right leadership in place. Fix the issues and this will be a great place and I will happily write a review reflecting the improvements.

Friend recommended Riverplace. Called and set up a tour. Really enjoyed it. Looking for my mom options for future move. Pricing was affordable. Everything included made it a real value. Did not know they had a travel program where you could stay up to a week at each of their locations throughout the US and you can bring someone with you. Mom has a pet and they are pet friendly. I was also impressed that they are ranked in the Top 2% of retirement communities in America. Also did not know the difference between Assisted Living and Independent living. Big difference! Time visiting was well worth it for me to see first hand.

Food is good and the rental cost is doable. However, I came from a system that raised rent annually. I had to leave because of cost.

I moved my parents there in May, and my dad loves it. Participates in the activities, made new friends, eating healthy. They don't have care that is through them, but they do have some really great people that you can contract to give assistance if you need it. It is like a family, where everyone gets to know each other in this big house. But still have their own private apartments. Would prefer if they had someone living on site for emergencies. It is expensive but any retirement community is. They are more reasonable than the others. My mom is resistant to say she likes it because she still holds on to the hope she will go home. But we know over time that will get better, it is just that she lived in the same house for almost 50 years. We just had to get them to a safer place for them in their aging years.

The new manager at Riverplace is a complete idiot. Over working staff cause she can't pull herself together long enough to hire adequate help for the facility. During staff meetings she can be heard hollering and cussing at her employees. Not very professional what so ever. [Name removed]......
