Overall experience - this is difficult to answer because simply placing a wife of 61 years in memory care is inherently a very difficult experience for everyone. I think they did as well as anyone could to make it as easy as possible. The community is very clean. They sometimes allow routine health issues to get out of hand before they can begin administering medications. I have contracted with [home care name removed] to have a companion for my wife at TerraBella 40 hours a week. This helps her and gives me bit of peace of mind. Also the assisted living part of the facility appears to be a much happier place but that is to be expected.

After taking with [name removed] he said, the people (staff were ok), the food was alright, I not sure participation in activities was high but they were available. I could see the cleanliness my self, I felt very at peace when I left him with interaction with the staff. He made one friend whom they set and talked a lot. One key personal gave me her personal number in case I got worried. The staff readily set up his room tv etc. So between what I could see and my feedback from his I think it's a really good facility.

The staff was absolutely awesome. They were incredibly supportive and helpful. The administrative staff was right there with us during this journey. The on hands staff were top-notch, caring, supportive, and loving. This was a good experience, although it was very short for my mom. They cared for her and for us and I would recommend this place to anybody who needed this kind of service. I am thankful for them and for how they helped my mom through her journey.

My mom starved to death at this place. They called it “Adult Failure to Thrive” on her death certificate. As long as your loved one can feed them self they’ll do just fine. If they need special attention from the staff to help them eat (slowly without choking), the staff is too overwhelmed with work, and those in charge constantly page them to go assist other residents. Hopefully the RN is no longer ther that was in charge when mom died there. She ignored all mom’s pleas for help because she thought mom was faking. When I followed up with her to see if she relayed mom’s health problems to the real nurse who visited once a week, she always sarcastically said she had. When I was fortunate enough to be able to speak with the real nurse, she said she hadn’t been informed of mom’s problems. One oversight on the resident RN’s part resulted in mom going to the ER with bleeding ear drums. I don’t recommend this place for loved ones who need special care.

In general the facility is very clean, this seems to be specific to her room. Personal care at times can be difficult for her, we have noticed her bedding has not been changes and there was a smell in her room. IT wasn't like this in the beginning. I think if the bedding was changed regularly it wouldn't be a problem. Communication regarding our loved ones care could be improved one. Our loved one got a bill for her meds and there have been several new medications added that we were not made aware of.

My mother had been in 2 other facilities prior to coming to Terra Bella. I’m so glad I got her moved here as every employee, entire staff, kitchen staff are wonderful. They have a very caring group and willing to listen to your concerns or questions. They always answer your questions and resolves concerns or problems immediately. My mother has never been cared for as she has since being here. Food is wonderful as I’ve even eaten there many times myself. She is happy as well. They try to involve all residents each day in a variety of activities-residents cooking, painting, crafts, exercising, movies, outside activities, field trips for every resident whether able to walk, needs a cane or wheelchair. There’s so much more to for residents to do as well as such great love and care within this great facility. I don’t think anyone would regret being cared for here. They have exceeded every expectation I’ve had and feel do the same for everyone. Been a God send to me and my mom!

My dad was only there for about 4 months, but he made some great friends. The care at Terra Bella was wonderful to my dad and me. The employees there truly care about their residents' happiness and well-being.

The staff that I met with during my tour were extremely friendly. To me, it felt institutional and I wanted a place that was going to feel more like a retirement home to mom. I think the facility may be the perfect fit for some, but it was not for us.

It was rough at the start. But as we were there and got things adjusted - and it did take some adjustments - she finally adapted to it and turned things around. And it's going very smoothly now. I have no problem with any of the staff. The only thing I've run up against, and this could happen anywhere, is my loved one would not take off her expensive necklaces. She had a nice pearl necklace and a gold cross necklace, and those were both gone within the first two weeks. But overall, she's doing much better here than expected. We were told she wasn't expected to make it past December, and she's actually doing very well there under TerraBella and hospice's care. I'm very pleased.

February 11, 2022Hi Deborah. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review about TerraBella Asheboro. We are thrilled that you're happy with our facility and that your mom is doing well here. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's ever anything additional we can do to make your experience here even better. Thanks again!
As are most facilities, Elmcroft is understaffed. the MedTechs are overwhelmed and under paid resulting in a high turnover and staff being brought in from temp agencies. Elmcroft was not able to provide the specialized care mom needed and they promised and charged us for. Mom died they charged for nursing care for 3 days after mom died and refuse to issue a refund.

I absolutely love the place. They are taking excellent care of my daddy. I feel so grateful and blessed to have found them. He is doing very well there. They got him up and on a walker, when he wasn't even trying to walk beforehand. They are encouraging him in every way. He's started singing lately. One of the nurses has a special kind of love in her heart for these people, and you can feel it. It's like it oozes out of her. She has been so helpful to me in so many ways. I can't say enough good things about her. She knows my loved one in the short period of time that he's been there. She has grown to love him, but she knows exactly how it is too, which is great. The administration changed, and I think they're going through a buyout. So they are going through some changes. One thing I will say is they're having a lot of trouble with the telephones. It's hard to get anybody to answer. And instead of the office staff, they're expecting the staff that cares for the patients to answer. I know a lot of places are short-staffed right now, but they seem to pull together and get it all done for the most part. They just need a better answering service. But overall I love the place.
They've very accommodating. They listen to any complaints and see to them. My loved one has been very happy here. She gets a lot of attention - I tell her she's being treated like a queen. And we appreciate that very much. With Covid, they've been pretty much confined to their rooms, but as thing ease up, they're doing more things. For instance, they just had an Easter parade, where they put on their Easter bonnets and paraded down the hall. We feel the value is good, and in fact they just called me to notify me that the charge for care has gone down, so we'll be seeing a reduction in our bill.

[name removed] in the kitchen is always rude and disrespectful I’m really looking into relocating to a different assistant livening home unless things change.

This community has been a better match than we could have imagined. The staff have been supportive in helping my loved one make the transition. They are attentive and super nice. She likes the food and loves the coffee. They do not offer a weight room or exercise room. They do offer some activities such as arts and crafts. I would recommend this community,
