Great care home.

My father-in-law passed away in [date removed]. Honestly [name removed] and his team were outstanding. The only thing we had issue with was the visitation. You had to make an appointment and only 2 families were allowed to visit at the same time. He always tried to accommodate us since we were over an hour away, but That made it difficult for other family and friends to visit. I'd still 100% recommend though.... Read more

Would recommend, but visitation is limited.

The owner is very nice, the place is very clean, my father-in-law seems to enjoy everyone. My one compliant is the visiting rules. He only allows two-hour visits, and you have to schedule them and only two families at a time.

Big senior smiles!

I found the staff very easy to work with. I also found them friendly and willing to go above and beyond. The actual location is beautiful; it's quiet, peaceful and, it's very safe. It is very much like the home that my parents moved from, as far as the environment with the outdoors and so forth. For me, it has been a win win win in the fact that it's been a great beautiful location, the actual facility is gorgeous, and the people couldn't be any nicer. I have both my mom and dad there, and I'm feeling very blessed that they're in the same place and in such a great environment.

Happy with our choice

We have had a very good experience and the facility is very good. Mother is content. Extremely attentive and responsive staff. Spacious facility in beautiful setting. Three fresh, balanced and home-cooked meals every day; can accommodate special dietary needs. Could use a few minor facelifts, such as paint and some furnishings but important needs are always accommodated if you ask. It is a small facility, so we feel fortunate to have found it with an opening!

I Feel Like I Made the Best Decision for My Loved One and I Feel Peace of Mind Knowing They Are There

I would recommend Sycamore Acres to others for their loved ones. They are very caring and accommodating with the residents. They will keep the residents clean and purchase food the residents enjoy. They treat the community more like a family than a hospital or clinic. It is a very, very nice place. The staff are friendly and easy going to speak with, and they treat the residents like family and call them by name. If the resident isn't wanting to eat what is served, the staff will find something else for the resident to eat. The community allows the residents to do whatever they like to do; however, there is no specified activities by the community. Most of the residents in the community do sleep due to their age. They do try to have all the residents together to watch tv in the evenings or do some type of reading. All the meals are served together with all the residents.

Tour experience

We had a great tour of Sycamore Acres and the guy was extremely nice. We would have considered it because it was comparable in price, but it had a cold homey feel to it instead of a warm one. The decor was all super nice and the home was clean, we just did not get that warm and welcoming vibe from it that we were looking for.

A good choice for your loved one.

My mother was at Sycamore the last couple months of her life. She didn't have long to live so I wanted to be sure where ever I placed her would include a caring, loving and competent staff. The staff to patient ratio is good and the amount of clients they have there is small which made all the difference in her feeling like she was st home with personalized care. I am grateful to a place for mom for recommending this facility and as a social worker myself, I would highly recommend Sycamore to anyone who wants their loved one to feel at home and receive the care they need.

Highly recommend

We chose Sycamore Acres because when we were looking at the pictures from the manager it looks clean, looks like you are living in your own home, and decorated beautifully. The director is very nice and accommodating and goes out of his way to make sure the residents have what they need to be comfortable and he takes really good care of them. The staff members go above and beyond for all the residents here and you do not have to worry about what is going on. I would highly recommend them.

Really Liked the People

We toured here at Sycamore Acres and really liked the community. We really liked the people here as well. However it was too far away for us, so we opted to try a community that was in a better location.

Finally A Place That Fits All My Wife Needs

This is a lovely care home. I finally found a place that fits all my wife's needs. The community looks amazing. They do a good job keeping everything nice and clean. They have a lovely staff, they are all very caring and helpful. There is only eight residences in this care home, so they able to give the resident the type of attention they deserve. There are activities within the home. The owners are a mother, daughter, and father team. They have been great to work with. I know she is being cared for well here and I would recommend.

Very nice but no activities.

Sycamore is very clean, and the staff are all really nice. I thought they were an excellent value compared to what I saw for a thousand dollars less, this is much better. The biggest thing is that she is very bored, they don't have any activities. She doesn't see well and can't really follow any of the programs on television. There are only three other residents capable of talking and even that is difficult because she can't hear. I would like to see them toss a balloon around, or have some music come in, and play. I chose them because they were the nicest looking place I saw, they are in a rural area with million dollar homes, and stables around, lots of trees, it's just beautiful. It was somewhere I would go.

Group Home with Older Residents

My mother has just moved in. It might be too soon to rate this community. I don't have a lot to compare it to and I've never dealt with this kind of community before, the group home setting but I'm pretty picky and I did allow my mom to go there. Most of the residents are really, really old so it's a lot of one on one interactions and they take them on walks. I'm not sure if I can say my mom likes it there or doesn't, but she's not uncomfortable.

Small Community, Not Many Activities

My friend has been here for less than a month so this is my initial judgement. He was in a different community that was much more expensive and he was worried that he was going through his money and asked us to find him a cheaper place. Money was his main concern. For activities, they don't seem to have much available but I think that is somewhat based on the abilities of the residents. My friend is 92 and most of the people seem to be less independent than he is. The owner said they used to take all the residents out to lunch once a week but now the residents have aged in place and it's not viable for them to do that anymore. They are a small community, licensed for 12 beds and my friend filled the 7th one so there's more space available.
