Sunrise of Edgewater

The only thing I would say is the food but that seems to be a common complaint among that age group. We would definitely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

There is always things that could be done to improve the individuals participation and improve the quality of the resident's life but they do try to meet individual needs.

My mother has been in the Reminiscence (memory care) section for a few months. The staff are wonderful, care has been outstanding, and staff really go out of their way to accommodate individual needs. Despite my mom always insisting on staying in her house, it was clear she was not doing well at home, and her improvement when she moved here has been astounding. I also like that she can access activities in the assisted living section, although this required us to hire daytime private aides. Just two issues to be aware of. First, there are few activities in memory care, nearly all centered on watching TV. Second, the activities are strongly oriented toward Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Overall though, this is definitely one of the nicer memory care options in the area.

This review is based on visiting a loved one at Sunrise in Edgewater three times a week for eight weeks. The facility is well located permitting easy safe and comfortable access to River Walk along the Hudson River with a great view of NYC.The facility is very clean The staff is a great asset, courteous, caring and friendly.They continuously interact with the residents meeting their needs

Sunrise of Edgewater community was great! [name removed] , the Director, and [name removed] and [name removed] coordinator were very helpful. My only issue with the facility was that the room was very small.

When we are older, it is a more difficult task and it takes longer and often requires help as well as a safe and supportive atmosphere. Sunrise and ALL of its staff try to support the residents to make this adjustment. Even with the best of efforts, it doesn't work for everyone, but keep trying and stay the course.

They have this really nice outside area with big windows where they could be out in the elements and enjoy the outdoors. The activities are amazing, they keep the residents so busy and they are so happy. They play documentaries for them, they will bring in fresh baked pies and snacks. They do a great job with the activities and overall we think the value is really good.

They are excellent on every level. This is a really wonderful community. It is small and intimate as opposed to being in a big establishment where the residents can feel lost. They are very personal and intimate with the residents. You can be assured that your loved one will be well taken care of.

If you want very, very good care and you're able to afford it, you would do well to place your loved ones at Sunrise. The leadership and staff have been so warm and delightful. They're approachable, and they're very responsive to residents' needs. The place is clean, and the staff do a very, very good job of taking care of people. My loved one really likes the food. On the weekends he likes to order out, because just like anyone, sometimes he just wants something different. This type of care is expensive across the board, but it's in a nice area, just over the river near Manhattan, and I believe they provide really good care here.

Watch the pricing and make sure they correctly charging you. I would recommend the community to others. They have had a great covid plan and their communication is awesome. overall we are happy.

‘Sunrise of Edgewater is an infested by mice senior living facility! Mice are everywhere: running in the hallways, in residents apartments. Disgusting! Residents complain, but these complaints go nowhere! The management answer: exterminator is coming. Meanwhile, executive director remains deaf to the complaints, busy laughing in the hallways with other management staff members. If there was no star rating, that would be my choice. Poorly ran facility!’

My Mom has been at the Sunrise of Edgewater, N.J.Memory Care Since the end of March 2019 .. almost 3 months and She and I are very happy with the care that she is receiving. It is a beautiful, spotless facility and everyone is very nice and friendly. I finally feel happy about my Mother’s living arrangements.

We had a nice tour of this community. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. The community was neat, and everything appeared to be well-kept. The staff was helpful, and informative. We did find another community that was a better fit for my husband, but we had a pleasant tour of this community.

This is a good community, and my father is doing very well since his move here. I do feel his safe, and in good hands. They have a great, friendly staff, and they have been helpful with everything. They do a good job with the cleanliness around the community. His room, and the facility are well-kept whenever I visit. The experience is going well for us in this community, and I would absolutely recommend this community to my friends.

I toured this community for my father, and his needs. Everything went well overall. The community looked nice, and the staff was kind. It was a fine experience, but I did find another community that suited my fathers needs better.

A friendly caring staff in a clean and up-to-date facility. Good staff to patient ratio. My mother is well cared for. I am happy that I chose them. It's very conveniently located for me to see my mother. I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. My cousin has a family member living in this facility for the past year so we had a strong positive personal recommendation before making our selection.
