We are well acquainted with what care for elderly should encompass. My Mom moved to Camelia Place because it not only meets, but exceeds our requirements for a home for Mom. She deserves the best living environment -clean, calm, peaceful, happy, healthy. We have found Summer Village Camelia Place to have a professional and caring staff, and management clearly is tuned in to resident needs. It is so good to see nurses , care associates, management on site who, in just one week, have been diligent about getting to know my Mom, her health concerns, and interests. It appears there has been a lot of training among staff and management and it shows in their approach to the memory care residents living here: we are just relived and happy to have found Camelia Place.... Summer Village is a good place for people who need to be there. Housekeeping could improve on their attention to detail and cleaning more thoroughly. One day I dropped something on the floor and when I went to go pick it up, I noticed rolls of dust underneath the bed. Aside from that, the nurses always listen and they are cooperative and helpful to me when needed. I would recommend them to other people.

When my mother moved in to Summer Village in [date removed], for the first few months, I was pretty happy. I do believe them when they say that Covid has made an impact on things. It has made it hard to keep employees. But, I also just think that the employees don't get adequate supervision. When they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing, either nobody really knows that's happening, or, they don't care. There's just a lot of things - they're supposed to check in on my mother at least once every two hours. There are times I'm there for hours and nobody walks into her room. I've been told it's because they saw me go in and they don't want to interrupt. But I don't like that answer. To me, they're still not doing their job. There are a few employees who seem to just sit around in the common areas all the time on their phones. And I don't really see them doing anything. If you have some extra time, why wouldn't you spend some time with the residents? Color a picture with them, or take them outside to sit in the sun. Numerous times I've come to visit and found there was no toilet paper in the room. I'll tell them, and they say they'll bring some right away. But then I'll have been there for an hour and half, and nobody comes by. So I have to ask again, which is totally unacceptable. So far since my mom has been there, they've had two changes in Executive Director. The gentleman they have now, even though his office is in the same building, I have never laid eyes on. I wanted some special permissions for visitors beyond the usual two that are allowed for her birthday (four total) to have a 20-minute birthday party with my mother. I called the Executive Director 3-4 times, with no response. I emailed him 2-3 times, with no response. That was very upsetting to me. They don't do any activities. They basically just blame everything on Covid. I feel like if you make a big change in the living situation of a person with dementia, they take a step or two down the dementia ladder every time. And she is basically happy where she is. She likes it there and has made friends, as much as someone with dementia can. And I don't want to take her out of that environment.

We chose Summer Village at the time because it was really the best one in the location we were looking at. The apartment sizes are very good. Overall, I would recommend for the area it is in.

Great location, great town, lots to do. I love building on one story and they have lots of green space. The landscaping is great. We don't hear much from the administration. The food is really good. Activities rarely take place and are very limited. They need to update the lounge and get new furniture.

Outstanding People! Caring, compassionate, comforting and kind staff who go above and beyond in their care of patients and in dealing with family members. We have been so impressed with the can-do attitude and positive spirits of these folks. I can't say enough good things about [names removed] and all the staff members! They have all played a part in helping to make our transition the best it can be. Thank you!

All of the workers are very efficient. Treat everyone with respect. The residents are very nice and kind to everyone. We living in two independent facilities in San Antonio and they could never compare to Camilla Place. NO fire extinguishers. Need better variety in menu and warm food!!!

Love the community: residents and workers all very nice. So not like hearing residents are unhappy with increases in rent prices. We all live on fixed incomes with no increases. Menus could have better variety!!

My wife and I have lived here just 4 months. So far we are pleased with the accommodations, the staff and all the nice residents. Also the meals and the people who manage the dining hall.

I love it here at Camillia place. My daught-in-law, found this online when she was in NJ and I was living in Florida. I moved in without ever having seen the place in person. I couldn't be happier with a place. Everyone is amazing, whether they are residents or staff. I'm the youngest one here, but no one cares about the age. All are so friendly and helpful, and genuinely care about each other The location is ideal! Close to the health club, mall, and just about anything you need / want.

Just as clean; pleasant; and welcoming as Azalea Place with good food. I liked Azalea Place better because the studio apartment, which is currently available was larger with small kitchen/bar area. No refrigerator, kitchen sink, counter area at [removed]. Dining room looked a little more institutional looking than Azalea Place.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my mother. The staff where friendly and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. The property was clean and had a lot of great amenities for the residents. My mother had just liked another facility a little more than she had liked this one.

They are remodeling the kitchen so the food comes in a takeout container and you do not always get the food you asked for. There is an exercise place within walking distance. I am a little disappointed that I have yet to meet the new director since we moved in. They do not yet offer any community activities. We are looking forward to things improving once the remodeling is completed.

I'm still waiting for punch list of replace/repairs to be completed. But otherwise, I'm most pleased with services, and the people that provide them!!
