We found my Dad a great place at Summer House Alexandria and he is thriving. They have gone above and beyond for him ever since he arrived. The staff is always responsive with any needs we have. Definitely recommend this assisted living facility.

I would highly recommend them and would stay there myself if the need arose.I picked them because it didn't feel like a facility, it felt homey and welcoming. The staff seemed genuine and like they enjoyed working there.

I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of price mostly, but the staff has been very accomodating to my grandmother

Marigold is a very nice place. Needs updating but the staff are nice. There are many memory impaired residents now, due to that it is hard to get in and out for visits. We lost use of the only green area out back which we enjoyed going out on visits. The doors are now locked and we cannot go out there. Handicapped accessible electronic doors like in hospitals going in and out would also be nice.

For the last two years our 92 year old Dad has dealt with the almost over-whelming responsibility of taking care of his large home and property alone. While he enjoyed being outdoors tending a garden or minor repairs, he had lost interest in those tasks…… and he felt guilty about not taking care of his own business!! We provided him with information on several options for alternative living arrangements. After a visit there, he felt Marigold Place would suit him just fine. He has been there about 6 weeks now, and still says he made the right decision. The staff has been so kind and attentive in checking on him, even though he is usually out of his room moving around the building talking to everyone. The administrative staff has always treated him with dignity and respect when answering his questions and helping to solve any issues that have come up. Dad is content and our family is relieved to know he is in a safe healthy environment…. and he still has a garden to work in!

I do not have the words to express how pleased our family is with the staff and community at Marigold. We had checked out the Marigold community prior to my mother's passing and then called to view it again afterwards. The staff was super friendly and did not mind answering any of our questions. They had so much information prepared for us and made it simple to review. My dad decided to join their community and loves it! This move has brought so much joy at seeing him find a place where he is comfortable and at home. He has found a new group of friends and is enjoying all of the amenities that are offered at Marigold. A big THANK YOU to all of the team at Marigold - or rather - THANK YOU to the Marigold family for making us feel a part of their family!

Excellent experience with Staff. Initial visit was excellent. Staff was personable happy and eager to help. Toured the facility, all residents were happy and eager to give info on their experience. Initially was going to another city, plans fell through, made one call and had a place in Marigold that Monday. Staff helped with every aspect of move, paperwork. Was an amazing experience. Every time I go to visit - staff is smiling, patients are smiling and friendly. Would recommend Marigold Place to anyone.

I am so super happy with this new beginning at Marigold. As you all may know making a change is always hard, but the people and staff at Marigold make this all so much better. There was ease, patience and grace extended by everyone. So far my mother is loving life at Marigold!

Mom made her decision to move into Marigold Place in September 2021 after living in her own home for almost 70 years. The move was due to physical mobility constraints, security concerns with living alone and social isolation especially during the pandemic. The experience has been very favorable! Mom's 2 bedroom apt is is 'homey', the residents and staff are very friendly and her participation in some of numerous activities is a source of constant praise from her. Mom feels safe and secure during weather events and during the COVID crisis which was a concern prior to joining the community. Mom is well nourished though offers 'advice' to the chef and anyone that listens for improvements. Mom does not require a high level care though the care she receives has been excellent. Finally my relationship with management has been excellent. I recommend Marigold Place! Fees are certainly a major factor in these decisions though in my opinion the value is worth the cost.

Marigold Place is an excellent facility with the care and comfort of the residents as top priority. Their interaction with residents are great and their compassion is real. I have interacted and met with several staffers and all share a willingness to not only help my senior sister who is a resident but me as a relative. I feel welcome when I go for a visit. [name removed], who is the Community Relations Manager, has been an important contact for me at Marigold. She has been a major point person from pre-admission of my sister to the current day. She goes the final mile to assist with any problem or question I have asked of her. She has a special knack of talking to residents and putting them at ease when they have a question or problem and that is certainly true in my role as a family member. [name removed], Marigold Director, has been very helpful to me as well and has assisted me several times when I go to her with a question or clarification of policy.

Kind, caring, happy staff.

Our initial expectations were not met. The initial evaluation to determine their ability to care for a potential resident should have been more through. The end result is our loved one should not have gone there initially and has since been removed.

My mother has improved since she's been there. The care they give is very adequate. In the few months she's been there, they've gone through some different cooks, some better than others. So the food has been up and down. The only other negative is the cost varies per month depending on the care required. It fluctuates, and you never know what you're paying, which has been a big issue. You're also going off of what they say about the level of care required, and there's a 30-day waiting period for re-evaluation. It's just expensive.

Initially, it was very friendly and hospitable. after we moved in its not so friendly or hospitable. Communication is not good and I have to initiate any communication. I would recommend if the attitude and friendliness of the caregivers improved.

This has been a really good place for my loved one. I feel comfortable with her here. She's safe and seems to really enjoy it. She likes that she feels safe here also, and they're able to help with her medication. She says the food is outstanding. She doesn't' participate in a lot of the activities, but is happy to hang out with her group of friends.

My mom stayed at the Marigold of Alexandria from the spring of 2015 until she passed away on [date removed]. She didn't want to be anywhere except her own house until her death, so it took a span of about 2 yrs. to convince/"drag" her to an assisted living place. We interviewed a couple of other places and found the Marigold affordable and offering the amenities we needed. She absolutely got the best care from the very start until she passed away. I went overseas with my husband who served in the military and my mind was at ease knowing she was in good hands. The staff and director showed through their kindness and compassion that they could be trusted and relied upon. I'm so glad we had my mom there!!

The community called and let me know that they made a doctor's appointment for my loved one, and they wanted for a family member to go sit with my loved one. The problem was I thought the community was going to be taking care of this for my loved one and the family and it was a last minute ordeal.

I have been very happy with Marigold Place. The personnel has worked hard to make my mother feel wanted and included in the daily happenings. I appreciate all the effort that they have put forth!

My mother left the home that she had lived in for 60 years and moved into Marigold Place in Alexandria, LA. She was there for 8 months. She was happy, loved, well-cared for and it truly became her home. Her only negative comment was that she should have moved there sooner. The staff was amazing. They went so far beyond what was required in every area of her care. The staff of housekeeping, food service, activities, reception, social worker, administrator must have been selected with caring and concern being a top priority. I would recommend, with no reservations, Marigold Place as an excellent move for anyone looking for assisted living. I cannot thank the staff enough for the loving care they gave my mother.
