We thought the people at Brookdale Alexandria were wonderful. They loved our father-in-law like family. They all treated our family member like one of their own with dignity and respect that he deserved. I would recommend Brookdale to other families.
They are extremely caring. They work very well with the residents families. We like it better than the last place she was in. I would highly recommend it to others. The food is good. The layout is good. I wish the room size was a little bigger. My Mother in law is in memory care so I understand why they have smaller room sizes.

There are not a lot of choices in the area for memory care. The head nurse was helpful. The Director did not advocate enough for my dad and did communicate enough with us. We brought in a private caregiver at our expense to help. The level of care in the evening and weekends went down significantly.

My brother was here at this community for a respite stay. It was a good experience, but there are some things they need to improve on. One issue is the billing system, they need a better updated billing system. It is a good looking community, they a very good job with the cleanliness of the community. The staff was good, but I did have some problems with medication management. I think they need a better consistency of staff. He was pleased with the meals. Overall I knew he was safe and in good hands here. I would recommend it.

My tour of Brookdale Alexandria was very positive. They offered us a complimentary meal during our tour. We also got to go home with a delicious home baked pie by one of their chefs. The people in the community were extremely nice and it was also very clean. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were receiving a great tour and that everyone was being nice.

My dad has been there at Emeritus at Alexandria for about six weeks or so. The main issue I have had is that they have not provided my dad transportation three days a week as they promised. There have been issues they have had for which they offer explanations for why this has been the case, but nevertheless it is pretty disappointing because dad likes to get out. I also just got a notice that the fees are going to be going up at the start of the year. I kind of feel like I'm getting nicked and dimed here. I'm not a big complainer and am not difficult to deal with, and the people there have been very nice, but there have been these overarching issues.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Alexandria 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
