We are pleased with the care my brother is getting at Spring Oak. It includes weekly housekeeping and laundry as well as meals and medical care. I don't have an opinion about activities because my brother doesn’t like to participate, but he does go on any bus trip that is offered.... Read more

It was a very nice place. Took care of dad well for his short time there. People were attentive and very nice. I really can't complain. My only issue with Spring Oaks was - with my dad in the facility for only 16 days before he died, it would have been nice to get reimbursed for some of the $[removed] one time deposit fee. Unknown to myself, hospice and staff his passing was so sudden and caught us all by surprise. I would have left him where he was if I had thought he would pass so soon. It's no one's fault and I certainly don't hold any ill will to Spring Oaks. I would still recommend them.

The frinedliness of the staff members is what really attracted me to Spring Oak of Toms River. They also worked with me on the pricing and kept the same price we were paying previously at another place - I really appreciated that. I would absolutely recommend the memory care side of this facility, the others I have no experience with.

Their communication is very good. Very helpful with any questions or problems. Biggest improvement could be cleanliness.

I am very happy. We picked this community because of how it looked, and the location. Also, they worked with me on financial level. It's a pet friendly environment.

The cost for this place was absurd and not worth it. I had a sit down with the management here about the conditions of the facility. It was the filthiest place and they didn't care about even trying to maintain anything. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

My Mom is very happy at Spring Oak of Toms River!!! We chose this facility because of the location, cost, and friendliness of the staff as well as residents. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It may not look like the Taj Mahal, but that's not what's important. It's much more important to be surrounded with kind people!

I'm not sure if the meal my father receives is because he can't communicate his choices or they just serve something very basic. Staff communication is excellent. My father receives excellent care. Showers often change of clothes daily. He is constantly monitored. I think the meals can be better. Smaller portions and not much variety. For example, if the meal was a pasta dish you would get the pasta dish and a drink. I am going to address this with them. The place overall is clean the nursing staff and the nursing Director are terrific people. my dad is in memory care and is a handful. They truly care about the people they support. They definitely keep us informed via phone or email.

They were very cooperative and pleasant. The staff and people were great. My loved one seemed to be, thrilled about the food/meals. The value for the money is good, and they worked with us make it more affordable, which was very helpful.

The business office is to be sending the invoices to the LTC Insurance and there were times that the community was not sending invoices to the Insurance company. The Insurance company threatened to cancel the claims. I am now sending the invoices to the LTC insurance to make sure the claims are being paid. The food is good for my loved one. The activities director is very good. [name removed] will reach out to my loved one to engage them into the activities offered in the community. There are a lot of repetitive activities and I wish there were more variety of the activities for the residents. Cable, phone, utilities, laundry, housekeeping, care, the apartment, and transportation that is included in the monthly fee.

It has been a life saver. We moved my loved one from another place into here. They have far exceeded our expectations way passed anything we thought they would do. The staff has been excellent and really good about keeping in touch with us. The meal choices are currently limited. The food is fine. They keep everything really clean.

I like the people here. Initially I got a good feeling about Spring Oak when I toured and was looking for a place. They were very helpful with the paperwork. It was a lot of work to get my mom in, but they were very helpful. And the admissions manager made an unpleasant situation as pleasant as it could be. The facility itself is decent. It's not a luxury hotel, but for what my mother and people in her situation need, I think it's fine. And they do provide adequate space. I've not tried the food, but I've been there when it's delivered, and it looks good to me. For my mom, it depends on the day. Sometimes she really likes it, other times not as much. Really the only thing is it's a little bit pricey. But having looked at other places, the cost is comparable or even better. And they only require a 1-year spend down, when some of the others require two.

The administrator who showed us around was very nice and informative. But overall the facility wasn’t clean, and it just looked depressing.
He is doing good there and they are very good with him. This community is pretty reasonable cost wise compared to some of the other communities. This is a good community for your loved one and I would recommend it.

Our family had an in person tour and based on the experience we would not put any friend or family there. The community was dark, dingy and depressing.
My mother has been at Spring Oak for several years now -- and much of that time has been through the COVID pandemic. Trying times to be sure, but everyone stayed safe -- and we were comforted by the effort the staff put into keeping the residents connected to their families as much as possible. However, during the time before and after the COVID lockdowns, there are many community activities, a number of which include the families. And even during the lockdown, the staff was sure to stay connected to the residents. I don't want to dwell on the pandemic because there is so much else to talk about. For instance, the staff is very proactive and responsive to concerns about the residents' health. The staff sees each resident multiple times per day in Assisted Living. We have also found the team at Spring Oak to be very courteous and caring to the residents and their families, showing genuine concern for the well being of the residents.
