Six Palms

My Mom was there for over seven months after surgery. We were welcomed with smiles and open arms. [name removed]is the best! (Especially her French toast! ??) She went out of her way to make Mom feel comfortable, like she was at home, and very well cared for. Caregivers are knowledgeable and hands on.

I felt like this community should have been a lot cheaper due to some of the things that I had to do during the hurricane to help my loved one myself. I do feel like if they are going to do this type of care that they should have a generator to help the residents and that they should have been more prepared., Overall the staff are good and helpful and whenever my loved one is sick they don't hesitate to reach out.

I toured Six Palms on a day when something had just happened to one of their longtime residents and the staff was upset. Even taking that into account I found it disturbing that the front door could not be easily closed and locked. There was extra equipment stored in odd areas around the house. The pool in the backyard was in disrepair along with other things. However, the staff seemed warm and caring to the residents and the residents appeared to be clean and cared for.

I love this smaller homey community. She has a private room and bathroom. They give her all the personal attention that she requires. They have been responsive to any of my requests. They are flexible with her meals if she is resting they will just bring it back to her. The food is adequate. The staff is courteous and pleasant. It is very clean but not to sterile. It has a fenced in pool and patio with chairs. I would recommend this community.

I can't say enough good things about this community. My dad passed away very recently but the short time we had him here was fabulous. The staff was so supportive and kind they did all they could to help us through this very difficult time. I just want to say thank you to the wonderful staff.

Six Palms is a nice place for my mom. They care is there and everything the staff does for my mom is fine. The meals are good and sometimes they play a game with the residents. It depends if they are doing well. I can see that she is doing okay here.

We had used this service for my mom. The care taker was not able to use the special eqipment. We were not able to get someone that could do all the needs for the physical needs . The staff was nice and very friendly and tried to help us with the right person. Other families might want to make sure that they have the right type of caretaker.

This was a nice tour for the care for my father. The staff was very nice and answered are questions of the care that is given here . They do have a good vaqriety of activities This was a community tht we would highly recommend. We did not choose due wanting a closer location to our home, but highly recommended for other families.

My family member was only there for one month. Some of the staff were exceptional. Some seemed like it was just a job to them. The kitchen floors felt sticky to walk across them. Otherwise it was a very nice place with people who tried to be as helpful and accommodating as possible. Again, our experience was brief so it's hard to base a whole lot on that.

This looked like a nice care home during our tour. The caregivers were nice and the home was clean. This place seemed to have a homey feel to it, however it was not the right fit for us. I wanted to thank A Place for Mom for their assistance.

Lovely facility. The caregivers are very accommodating with my mother in law's needs.

During my tour i noticed that the community wasn't very clean and it needed a little updating. The layout of the place was very odd it looked like a house with added hallways around it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They have meal plans available for the residents and complimentary transportation.

It has now been ten weeks since my husband moved in at Six Palms, and we are more than satisfied. He has been treated with respect and given outstanding care. The staff has been wonderful. and as time has passed, we had a few concerns that were addressed quickly and thoroughly. My husband feels comfortable and safe at Six Palms, and enjoys a close personal relationship with each of his caretakers. There have been many times when one of these ladies has asked him about his former life. I had brought many items from home to his room to make it feel more familiar. These awards and photographs have encouraged the caretakers to ask questions and get into lengthy discussions with my husband. (Sometimes these discussions take place in the middle of the night, when a caretaker came into his room to help him in some way!) There is an excellent nurse practitioner who reports to a doctor on a regular basis. The nurse and aides at the facility make thorough reports of any changes in Isaac's condition, and these reports are followed up in quick order. The facility is lovely and has very pleasant inside and outside areas for the residents to relax. Family members are treated with kindness and courtesy. Communication between the aides, nurse, resident, and family members is excellent. I was very hesitant for my husband to move away from our home, where we had daily caretakers and this has been a challenging time of transition for both of us. The aides and nurse administrator at Six Palms have been caring, considerate, and most helpful in making this major life change as pleasant and successful as possible. I feel confident that my husband is getting the care and attention he needs and deserves. Thank you, Six Palms!

It seemed like a nice place, but I ended up picking another place that was closer to my home, and that had nicer outside landscaping than Six Palms. Six Palms was kind of bland by comparison. It was a nice place and the people there were all extremely friendly and helpful, just wasn't quite what I was looking for.

They did an absolutely wonderful job at Six Palms, I don't know what we would have done without them. They got my Dad the care he needed, and made sure that my Mom was comfortable and happy here as well. The facility itself is attractive and comfortable, and really just has a nice warm friendly atmosphere, it doesn't feel like an "institution" at all. It was a great place for the grandkids to visit and get to know their grandfather as he declined. I would absolutely recommend it to others looking into senior care in the area!

Facility is nice and feels new in a very comfortable way. There's even an outdoor pool for therapy. It's a small ALF in a home setting, so not many residents or activities, but good individual care. Staff is very helpful and caring. My Dad was not very cooperative in the beginning, but the staff persevered and he's starting to settle in nicely. I'm very happy with everything so far.

My father has only been there a week, so it's hard to totally judge at this point, but so far, so good. They seem to be taking good care of him. He gets confused, but that's to be expected at a new place with new people. I'll have a more comprehensive report in a month or two.

Nice, bright and clean home. Home is newly modified with newer materials. Most rooms have their own full bath. There is a pool. Would be better with a railing at steps into pool or a lift. House isn't too far from shopping centers, but is in the country and may feel isolated or peaceful based on your mindset. Jackie, the owner, took lots of time with me and was very nice and friendly.

Six Palms is a very nice facility located on a country road in Manvel. It is fairly new and only has 4 or 5 residents so they have time to give extra care to their residents. Our mother has been there for a month and a half and has done well. I do think the menus need better planning, but I have found this to be a problem elsewhere too. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice with roll in showers. It is a pleasant quiet place and the staff is nice and helpful.
