This is a place to go if you want to stop living. My husband was admitted wednesday afternoon, responsive alert but both of us needing "respite", Admittance took over one hour for which you pay $150.00 and involved just a patient's medical & personal history, of course the interviewer spoke a questionable English. By 5 a.m Friday he was dead. Thursday morning he had been given 3 different meds including haldol, morphine and valium never bother to pick up the phone to call his family to report he was agitated and wanted to leave. He never took so much as an aspirin and the amount of meds administered PUSHED him over the edge and he never awoke. I doubt if he had so much as a drink of water let alone a meal during the 39 hours he was there, yet the charge is for 5 days . We sat for more than 8 hours on Thursday no one came in to offer any kind of care!! SAD SAD place for 500 per day and you have to pay for 5 days regardless of how long you are there. It should be investigated...it doesn't promote living, but death.

We brought our mother, Alice, to St.Theresa's for hospice. Not only did she receive excellent care, but this care truly was provided with love. Our family was allowed to make the necessary decisions without pressure or judgement but with skilled advice & received more than our share of TLC form the staff as well. Not only did this allow our family to "just be family" instead of caregivers, but it also provided my mother with new friendship. She bonded so much with one of the staff that he asked to be present the night she died & was with us in the room to say goodbye to her. (This still brings tears to my eyes almost 4 years later...) St. Theresa's hospice staff was a beautiful blessing to our Mom and to our entire family. They are still often in my thoughts & I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a beautiful hospice experience for their family member or for themselves.
