Spring Hills Park Ridge offers assisted living and memory care, along with the additional advantage of sharing a campus with Spring Hills Post Acute Park Ridge. This continuation of care enables residents to stay in place if their care needs ever change. Through the community’s Signature Touches program, residents enjoy programming designed to focus on the whole person. Activities and social events encourage socialization and a welcoming atmosphere. The community is also pet-friendly, courtesy of the community’s P.A.W. program.
Residents also have access to all the benefits and attractions this locale provides. Park Ridge is near New York and the Hudson River, with Manhattan under an hour away. If you wish to stay closer to home, you’ll find several charming parks nearby where you can enjoy Bergen County’s scenery. The nearby Upper Saddle River Historical Society provides a glimpse into local history. And, across the river, nestled on the riverbanks, you can visit the American author Washington Irving’s Sunnyside historic estate.

I have been living here for [date removed] , and have seen management:ownership change a lot in this time. Frankly, if I had somewhere else to go, I'd be gone! While there are still some good, even great people working here, DEEP budget cuts means less staff, less amenitied, and the new owners SIMPLY DON'T CAzrE!!! If I could live almost anywhere but here, I WOULD!! Oh for the dsys of [name removed] and [name removed], and [name removed], our amazing concierge, who's whole job was to keep us happy and entertained! Not only did they let him go, they eliminated his position! We are now merely replacable assets!! SHAME ON THEM ALL!!! The consensus among Residents is that we are Residents no more, but INMATES! I now tell my friends on the outside that this is THE MORGUE'S WAITING ROOM! Brutal, I know, but that's how I feel. >:-(

We moved my parents into Atrium Senior Living in January 2019. At the time we made the decision to pick the Atrium we were told that the Atrium was being purchased by a well known senior living proprietor. Many promises were made for upgrades at the facility. To date these upgrades are still not implemented. The dining room serves mediocre food. My parents say it is beginning to improve but still leaves a lot to be desired. Activities are limited. However the Staff is attentive, pleasant and great to work with. We are hoping that facility gets the upgrades soon since this is one of the reasons we moved them here in the first place.

Response from Residence at Park Ridge
February 23, 2021Dear Anonymous, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
No one was available for scheduled tour on a Saturday afternoon. No call to let us know in advance. We were told to come back on Sunday and when arrived told that [name removed] who does the tours had switched her days so not available. They had the cook do the tour but he had no information on rates, etc. While the place was newer and rooms were more spacious then [removed] VERY concerned with overall organization and administration. A family friend also told us that they have not paid one vendor for many months and have high staff turnover. Pass!

... *attention people of park ridge and surrounding areas... beware of the atrium in park ridge, new jersey. my grandmother was staying at the atrium since november 2017 to august 2018. she passed away at the august of 2018 and since then, my family has been speaking with corporate to receive their refund. two months later, we are getting nowhere. on september 10, we received an email saying the check was being processed. two weeks ago, we received an email saying that "there were no updates at this time" when we inquired about when the check would be sent out. after leaving numerous voicemails and messages with various people, my father went back to the atrium to let them know he is STILL waiting for his money. he was then told, he would receive his check by november 1st. he was also told that we are not the only family waiting for money. i just wanted to let you know that this is how the the family members of deceased patients are being dealt with at the atrium. this is extremely irritating especially since the atrium requires you to pay thousands of dollars IN ADVANCE. so families will basically pre-pay for services and care, but when their loved one gets released or unfortunately passes away, the process of getting your money back is not a simple one. July 30, 2021Dear LZ, Thank you for your feedback. We are saddened by your experience. Please email us a contact number at info@springhills.com so we can learn more.
We toured Atrium Senior Living of Park Ridge. It was a clean community and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. This community had a more hospital type setting. We chose another community because we needed a more home-like setting.

The person that took us on tour of the community was nice and knowledgable. The community seemed clean. They offer daily activities. I did not think this community offered the level of care my loved one needed.

May 29, 2019Thank you for the kind review.
The Atrium Senior Living of Park Ridge was a very nice complex. The place was very clean and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would love to live here myself. I chose another community because my mother needed a higher level of care, but this was a great option.

May 29, 2019Thank you for your positive support and feedback!
A family member stayed at the Atrium for several months in 2015, and I was sincerely shocked at the substandard level of care that she experienced. The place had been taken over by a new coordinator and his staff, and according to my understanding, the place declined rapidly regarding quality of care. Although the physical and occupational therapists are wonderful, all of the other caregivers are horrendous. Most of the staff speaks Haitian in front of the patients, making it an uncomfortable atmosphere for all involved. If they were caring, that would not be an issue but in addition to the rudeness of speaking another language all the time, they clearly did not care at all about their patients. People had to wait almost an hour at times to have a response to a call bell in order to use the bathroom. No one wanted to help patients in any kind of physical way, so that although the training for CNA's includes how to handle people without becoming injured, none of these staff members appeared to have been trained or willing to use their so-called expertise for patients who had physical needs. The nursing staff was not much better, were very callous, especially the head nurse who came in with the new administrator. My relative was simply warehouse there was no treatment or help even when she became ill there was no attempt to understand what was wrong with her. They claim that their doctor visits the patients regularly, but in fact although he apparently rights progress notes he does not see them on any regular basis at all. For the atrium, subacute equal substandard

We have toured this community, while looking into options. We felt the community was modern and well staffed. It was clean and friendly. Also our attorney gave it a personal recommendation as his family had used the community as well.

I met two staff administrators who were very professional, and in hindsight, all business. Up front was all the monetary questions, then the tour. The 23 guest unit is very hospital or nursing home like...not very homelike. There aren't really any grounds for residents to walk about and the assited living dementia care unit seemed very restrictive. The far end of the hallway smelled of urine...for real...no kidding. There was a used latex glove on the floor half folded inside out right in the middle of the hallway...either a bathroom cleaning latex glove, or one used for a medical exam....the staff just let it lay there...either way, wrong answer on that! In the sub $6000 price range I have seen far better "communities" in every regard ... a word I could not apply to this facility.

I live locally in Montvale and my mom needed rehab following a hip replacement. Plaza was recommended by a friend who had been there and another local facility. She raved about the PT staff and the food, so we decided to send mom there. She arrived on a Saturday and we were a little hesitant about a weekend transfer, but she was seen by PT within 24 hours and started her workouts the following day. Between her hip and copd she was not feeling well at first, but within 17 days she was ready to come home and was babysitting again shortly thereafter. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close. Thank you to James and his team for a job well done!!

A Place for Mom has scored Residence at Park Ridge 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
