Very welcoming. The other residents made my father in law feel welcome in all activities right away. Really appreciated that. Clean, very good food per my father in law.

This was a nice place for my short assisted-living requirements. However, I did wind up with Covid while I was there, so I sequestered myself in my room. I requested that the staff bring me my meals (All I really could get down was Rice Krispies). That way, I would not go to the dining room and infect the mostly elderly population with Covid. After a couple of days, I was informed that if I wanted my Rice Krispies brought to my room I would have to pay a delivery fee for each meal - even though I was still testing positive for Covid. Since I only had two days left in my stay, and I had some fruit in my refrigerator, I told them I just didn’t want meals for the next two days. Even though overall Renaissance is a lovely place to stay, I think the policy of charging Covid positive people to deliver meals to their room needs to be reevaluated. It is just encouraging people to go to the dining room and infect other people.

This is a top notch 5 Star place for my Brother in Law. It has the best amenities and doesn’t have the feel of a place that is just for people who are waiting to move to assisted living. He is so happy, it’s like living in a five star hotel.

He doesn't really like the food, but he's eating more regularly (staff makes sure). He doesn't participate in any activities, but staff encourages him to.

I would absolutely recommend [names removed] at the Renaissance assisted and so very knowledgeable and compassionate![name removed] was extremely pleasant accommodating to meet us, very knowledgeable and supportive! The team actually cares about you and they all know residents by name and is friendly in speaking to them. The independent living and ALF facility is extremely clean, bright, inviting, with many activities that they encourage. The Independent living apartments are a perfect size. The staff are very helpful from the person at the desk when you walk in, to admissions, dining, housekeeping, and medical staff.

Over all the best, I'm happy Cleanliness is above expectations, no smells Staff is friendly, occasional concerns have been resolved. Care has been excellent Food is bland, yet nutritious There are daily activities as well as special events I am well satisfied with the expenses and see the costs as fair and of good value for the money I feel that I was fortunate to find such an exceptional place fo my wife. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely lake and many trees. Lots of shade to sit outside or take a stroll!

It's a nice place with good service. It's clean and well kept. We are out of state so we don't get there much, so I'm not sure my comments are useful. My father in law doesn't go to the social events, and he doesn't like to eat in the dining room, so again I'm not sure I'm the best to ask.

We were initially pleased with Renaissance. It had no institutional smell, and appeared very clean. It also offered availability for dogs, which for my mother was a must. We found that they had availability very close to a door, which also pleased her, for walking the dog. Unfortunately, they are quite short on staff, especially on weekends; often, nobody answers the phone when I try to return a call from the nurse. The maintenance person also told us that his staff had been severely reduced. On the plus side, nursing staff appears adequate and well trained. The food is average.

We chose Renaissance North Tamps because it is a well kept facility, contemporary "resort" appearance and features. The staff have all been very friendly and accommodating.

My person is in assisted living. She enjoys Bingo, chair aerobics (and water aerobics in the pool in summer!). There is a beautiful theatre where movies/TV is shown and word games are played. There are happy hours each week and the grounds are attractive and well kept. The staff is friendly and has provided assistance to my person many times when I have called. The nurses have called me a few times when there is a health issue and have assisted with special requests and new prescriptions. She is happy here!

I'm very satisfied with Renaissance. I picked this community because of safety and a responsive administration.I live out of town and safety is an important concern. Further, I was ably to find a beautiful apartment for my wife.

I picked Renaissance because I ran into a neighbor during the tour. When I met her 40 years ago I thought she was 80 years old. She looks better now than she did when I met her. Because I figured if they could make my neighbor look that good, they were doing something right. I've already recommended twice.

My mom has been in Transitional Memory Care since its inception, and I saw the Director's day-to-day hard work of setting up the program from scratch. Now, watching how all the residents are cared for, I appreciate all her and her staff's efforts. The staff is very responsive when I have a question or an issue pops up with my mom's care. The caretakers are dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate. I watch them use humor and empathy while assisting and caring for the residents. The caretakers answer my questions or make suggestions to assist me in caring for my mom. Their kitchen serves delicious meals, the staff encourages family to stay and participate in the social activities. They keep the residents moving and shaking, as their abilities allow. They have music, singing, and dancing too, which is my mom's favorite activity, along with daily Bingo (the residents are soooo competitive!). They regularly bring in entertainers and pets, etc. for social engagement.

Excellent care and family communication. There were others equally as interesting. Did our homework to find an acceptable place for my brother. Still as the saying goes, "there's no place like home", but that just wasn't in the cards.

They could improve on the billing process. The food could be improved, and the dining area could be upgraded. They have a swimming pool, and transportation, which is great. I picked this community because it was top of the line compared to other places. I would recommend to others if they improve with the staff.

A Place for Mom has scored Renaissance North Tampa 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
