We are happy with the facility and staff. Very nice environment. Food needs improvement. Served cold Does not appear to be freshly served if you are not first at table. Elevators go down periodically. Many organized activities , throughout the day on site as well as community excursions around the area. Shopping, banking , restaurant trips etc. Overall I would recommend this facility. Meals are a big downside.... Read more

I would NOT recommend the memory care facility. They dud not take adequate care of my step dad and needed to move him out. The regular staff was kind to my mom, but I couldn't keep her there after how they treated my step dad. Too many people sitting slumped over in the front lobby with nothing to do. The facility is kind of dreary. The meals were usually okay, except my mom and a few others got food poisoning after eating a chicken dish.

I would say the Regency Grand is like a BEAUTIFULLY frosted cake........it LOOKS AMAZING, the staff is friendly and accommodating.......UNTIL you "cut into the cake" and realize it is woefully undercooked/UNDERSTAFFED.......and they just don't/didn't have the ability to provide the care/assistance/supervision needed.....

We (my siblings and I) toured this facility when searching for Assisted Living for our father. We really appreciate the time and patience given to us from the staff, [name removed] in particular. Everyone we have been in contact with has been so kind and responsive to all of our questions. The facility is very inviting and we can see our Dad being happy there. We could also see all of us spending family time there with him. All that being said, if it was only my siblings and my decision, my Dad would already be moved in. But my Dad is of sound mind so he hasn't fully committed to going yet.

They make it sound wonderful to get you in the door. They are very short staffed. The Memory Care facility is not adequately staffed. The Assisted Living section is okay, but the building is getting run down and the handymen are really overwhelmed with work. The AC is not working in my mom's room. The sliding glass door lock doesn't work properly. The food is quite bland and mostly mushy. The Activity bus hasn't run for 6 years. Any outings are for only 3 residents at a time, in a car. The staff is nice enough, but don't seem to be around when you need them. Many residents want to leave but can't afford to. I have moved both of my parents out of that facility now as of this last weekend. No, I wouldn't recommend Regency Grand of West Covina to others.

We picked this community, because of the staff, the room was really nice, they were willing to work with us, and made sure things was taken care of. They are working on improving the food. They are good with communicating and responding. I would recommend to other families.

In memory care and what I've seen on the outside of the community, someone has taken some great thought about bringing nature indoors. They have a pleasant environment for the residents, and successfully keeping staff happy here. The community is helping with dressing and undressing, hygiene assistance, and more. There are meals and entertainment provided to the residents. The residents will also receive snacks along with meals. They even provide a refrigerator for the residents to pull snacks from. The staff is long term and this tells me that they are happy, well paid for, and more. It appears they have a good work culture. The staff are friendly. Some of the activities they have are puzzles, games, a locked courtyard with seating for residents to use, and more for the residents to choose from. The bedrooms are locked and the residents are not allowed to be unsupervised in their room. They have to be in a group with other residents socializing. The staff to resident ratio is roughly 1 staff member per 7 residents. This allows proper cleaning of doorknobs and more due to the pandemic. There is a resident's dog allowed in the community, and birds in birdcages to allow beautiful sounds of nature for the residents to hear. There are murals on the walls, and helps the resident navigate the hallways. This is so thoughtful and bright. This is a very secure area for the residents.

Regency Grand is a great option for your relative. My dad chose the community because he wanted to stay in West Covina area and this community was near his home. The food was great. The communication was good. However, he isn't living there anymore.

My mom entered the Memory Care unit in July 2019. The facility is nice, the staff is very attentive. My mom loves the access to the outdoor patio and the resident cat that walks around. There is also a bird cage in the hall that brings my mom joy. It was a very difficult decision to place my mom once we came to terms with her inability to live at home.... we looked at many places but knew immediately that the Regency felt the best for her. The location works well for family to visit my mom. ?? PS- I gave 4 stars for care because my moms glasses have gone missing but they were found in a few days.

I had a really nice tour of this community and thought the staff did a great job at providing my loved one with lots of great information. We did not feel rushed or pressured which I was really thankful for. They had a nice floor plan that was easy for us to navigate through with lots of great amenities. Overall we have no complaints and would defiantly recommend this place

Very nice good size rooms on a very busy street and they charge for parking. Dog pee in front of elevator and air/heater looked old and it could be loud

This community was really pretty and very clean. I was taken on the tour and the person that took me answered all my questions and was very helpful. This just was not the place for me. I would recommend it though.

I noticed during our tour of this community I noticed how well maintained and clean the staff have kept it. The bedrooms they had to offer had a lot of space and offered great amenities to there residents. The only thing I did not care for is they wanted to place my dad into the memory care unit and I did not feel that was the right fit for him.

Very nice! I like it because they have private shower in the resident's room, unlike the other facilities that I have visited which has them in the hallway. They do not have opening!
