Randall Residence of Sterling Heights

I have some concerns about some staff members being cruel to my mother who has dementia.

We really like the smaller size of the community, it is a little bit cheaper then some other communities we had checked out and we like that they have different cottages for the residents. We do not always go when they have activities but on their Facebook page you can see pictures and some of the activities they do have going on for the residents. When you reach out to the staff by email they have really good communication.

This was our 2nd facilty that my Mom lived in. As an advanced stage memory patient who could be a bit feisty, the staff took to her and truly cared about her. The facility is clean and they kept to the schedule to make sure they care Mom needed was taken care of. You can get “wowed” with the new facilities glitz, but the people make it go. The only negative in my opinion was the food could be improved, but understand staffing and food costs are pressures on the monthly cost. Overall I would recommend in the Sterling Heights area.

I would recommend this community for you or your loved one. I felt that they were good, based on my loved ones condition I feel like he may have needed a little more assistance but overall we were very happy with Randall. The staff were really good and very friendly with everyone. They treated my loved one great and I had no issues with this at all.

A lot of promises that were made were not kept, they did not meet any expectations whatsoever. They said cleaning came once a week and that did not happen and laundry was never done consistently. The head nurse at the time was rude and we always saw staff members on their phones and not engaging with the residents. Residents safety was a huge concern - there was a client that climbed out of a window, crossed a major intersection and the family was contacted by the hospital first because the community had no idea.

This is a great place for your loved one. It looks nice and the people are friendly. They check on the residents all the time. I don't have anything negative to say about them at all. They have activities like board games, cards, wine tasting for the residents.

All the staff members seem friendly and caring, and the value seems to be right in line with everyone else that's why we chose this facility. However due to the restrictions we still have not been able to get inside the facility and see our loved ones room.

What we really liked about this community was that they were all kind and friendly and our loved one got the care that she needed. We would definitely recommend the Randall Residence of Sterling Heights to others .

It is a smaller community. They take the time to get to know the residents and keep them active. The food is good. The room sizes are nice. They have a couple of different floor plans. My mom has a studio which is a good size for her. They encourage the residents to participate in activities and be engaged with the other residents.

In the months since my husband's admission to Harbor Chase, I personally witnessed extreme patience, kindness, and respect extended to each resident. The staff exhibits dedicated professionalism dealing with the unpredictable nature of those suffering from Alzheimer/Dementia. I am grateful

1 to 10 care, state requirement is 1 to 15, Like the cottage style set up with a very nice community central area. Is cottage houses 20 residents, and each placed with the level of demential (1-4) 4 being the extreme level of care needed. All secured and locked down. Out door access, weekly Doctor visit's - [name removed] (geriatric doctor). Two care coordinators assigned to each cottage. Cost goes up on average 3-4% each year. All rooms the same and nicer than Sunrise, nice set up. Atomosphere very quiet. Not overly secure nor did they greet me. A medical traveling person entered, I walked in behind. The person letting her in did not greet me nor question who I was. Probably the best place for Pops if the dementia progresses.

Great facility and great staff! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. All staff members were friendly. Loved their philosophy of care and their attention to their clients. The rooms were private and nice and they involve the family with all decision making.

I love seeing the changes in my Aunt since she has moved here. They have her room decorated very nicely, made sure that she has a wheelchair and a walker at her disposial. The staff has been wonderful they are encouraging her to be a part of the different activities and her goal is to get to on one of their many field trips. My Aunt is so much more active, she likes going out to the courtyard which is in the middle of the community and total secured, she visits with the other residents in the sitting areas, she even likes going to the dining room and enjoys the food. I would definitely recommend scheduling a tour at this community.
