Pine Acres Nursing Home

I suspect the positive reviews are for the first floor, the rehab floor. We were happy with everything on that floor—great staff and attentive care. Then we moved my MIL to the second floor. Huge mistake. The last time we saw her, before we had her rushed to the hospital, she was hunched over in bed, covered in her dinner—which she was forced to eat with her hands—and struggling for breath. The staff told me they thought our wishes were to not take her to the hospital—we never said that. A DNR does not equate to no medical help. I never talked to a doctor, their wasn’t nearly enough staff, it was an awful painful experience. It’s taken me a full year to write this review—my MIL passed away a year ago, and I am thankful it happened on the kind and compassionate hospice wing of [name removed] medical and not at Pine Acres. Our world is so broken that we don’t have better care for our seniors. To reiterate, the first floor staff was terrific at the time (12-13 months ago).

I placed a close relative at Pine Acres Nursing Home and Rehab and the experience was amazing. The overall facility is beautiful and very freshly decorated. Staff is superb and really nice even in tenses situations. They gave us all the time we needed and were always available to listen to our concerns. The energetic attitude and positive environment really helped our relative recover mentally and physicially. I believe that Pine Acres in Madison NJ is one of the best facilities in the area, and I am we ddi not go into to this blindly. I never thought i would ever have a postive attitude about a nursing home I can say that honestly changed. The reason why I am writing this review is because I wanted to publicly thank you all doctors, nurses, therapists, diet department and most of all the administrator for making working sith us and helping us in such a challenging time.

Last summer, my mom was admitted to pine acres nursing homes. I brought the family to go visit her, and was pleased to see the facility was rather clean and well maintained. It was nicely designed, and overall it just had the feel of a clean, hospitable environment. This facility also avoided the typical stale medical smell that seems to pervade these homes. The environment surrounding the home is at an acceptable level, with nice landscaping and forested area for residents to walk through. The faculty of Pine Acres did an excellent job with name recognition and with adjustments in care for my mom in particular. Dining options were frequently adjusted for her per her conditions, and never was there a complaint or concern ever voiced to us about it. Additionally, they went the extra mile to ensure that our family was comfortable and welcome during our visits. Overall, my family and I were very pleased with the quality of care and manner in which they treated my mom,, and I would highly recommend it to anyone searching for a warm and loving home for a close relative.

I just want to publicly express my thanks to the entire staff at Pine Acres Nursing Home, the dedicated and personalized care that was given to my grandfather over the past 8 months was simply amazing, there is no words words that can thanks you guys and gals enough for everything you did in such a challenging time for our family. Management was constantly in communication dealing with his meds discussing his needs and what can be done to ease his pain and discomfort. Nursing staff were always a pleasure to deal with and we always felt tended to.
