This facility was way above my expectations. We had never needed a facility like this, and, needless to say, I was concerned. The place is clean and bright. There is a lovely patio to enjoy. There are trees and green all around. From my spouse’s room, one could enjoy seeing the outside landscaping. It made it so much less institutional. The nurses and staff were top notch—professional yet warm and friendly. [name removed] and [name removed] made me feel confident that my spouse was in good caring hands. A dear friend was in urgent need of a high level of care due to rapidly declining dementia. Her situation was exacerbated by a pre-existing, inherited neuromuscular disease, so she needed 24/7 care for both physical and mental health issues. The moment I pulled up to Spring Grove, nestled in the woods and surrounded by trees and flower gardens, I knew this beautiful facility was special and different; from friendly Reception, to knowledgeable Admissions guiding me through the entire process, including private caregivers and Hospice, to a caring, and accessible Executive Team, along with a dedicated, compassionate and communicative Nurses. Recreation is always doing something lively and fun to engage the residents, the food is great and the facility is always clean and welcoming, no odors. Convenient on-site access to various medical services, laundry and a hair salon. Any issues were always quickly addressed and we could not have had a better experience. They make you feel "at home".

This facility has nothing to do with rehabilitation. It’s a warehouse of sick people who get minimum care. The staff don’t want to be there. The medical staff are powerless at this hell hole. Please do not allow your loved ones there.

Don’t ever take a loved one to this facility. Staff is irresponsible, unprofessional, and rude. Admission director is phony, and uncaring; did not realize I was included in her group chat. It’s all an act. Another staff member (male) apparently does not have the courage to speak directly to family member. If your loved one is at this facility; GOOD LUCK. And especially, if they need medical attention. You may have to wait hours to have them taken to the hospital; waiting for their transport company to respond. One might ask, what about the local EMS; you may have to get a police officer to call for that. APPARENTLY, NJ HAS A MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION ISSUE. And appears it’s ACCEPTABLE to let individuals needing medical treatment wait hours. So good luck with your loved one at SPRING GROVE. Sharing information for anyone who has negative experience you can contact the JOINT COMMISSION and NJ DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, as well.

Everybody is nice, polite, and really helpful. They always keep me updated with every change that they do. My loved one likes to watch the movies they offer and the crossword puzzles. One of the CNAs, the manger for the nurses, the people who serve the food, and cleaning people, well everybody are so polite and nice! I always see them cleaning. The bathroom and the front desk are always clean. The meals really so taste good. And they mix it up with vegetables, protein, and carbohydrates. The nurses and sometimes the management communicate well with me.

We have had a history with Spring Grove and they have maintained the nursing staff, the managers and aides are always responsive and attentive. It had a different owner and I am happy with the staff they have kept. I did not see anything bad or dirty. My loved one's bed was made and it was clean when he got there. The nurse manager gave me updates and allowed me to speak to him.

I think that they try their best. if there are any concerns, they address them immediately. There are many that care well for my loved one. The assigned physician or the nurse gives updates. I am happy with that.

The staff is absolutely lovely, smart, committed, amazing. They're just dedicated, lovely, great people. They're really treating my loved one as a human being and not less because she's older. The staff are really sweet and dedicated. They're really great. I know their renovating, but you look at the carpet and you can tell it hasn't been touched in so long. She says the food is fine. They are supposed to reach out to me and I haven't heard anything. If I reach out and ask they're very helpful.

The staff seemed very nice but they changed my loved one's room and I am not happy with that. The social worker calls every now and then.

My wife is comfortable there and is getting better. Sometimes it gets busy and they don't come right away to see her. The staff are very lovely people. It smells nice and the food is good. She likes her tea and they give her a little cookie. I don't know who to call or who to talk to. They come in and out and do their thing.

The people are very nice and good-natured. My loved one loves the PT and it is fabulous. The people were extremely friendly. Nana is wonderful the night time nurse. It is under construction and they try to keep it clean. The food is not good. I have not heard from anybody and she is interacting with them and they do not have to contact me.

The specialists and the nurses were wonderful. The physical therapy and occupational therapy was very good. There were no staff around to respond to him if he needed something or if he rang the bell. There just aren't enough staff for the number of residents they have.

The facility is nice, clean and big. I get the feeling the nursing staff is caring and good. I have spoken to my aunt about the physical and occupational therapy and she is pleased with it. The nurse in charge is giving good care. My aunt is eating heartily and that is probably a good thing. I am not hearing any complaints and she is a chronic complainer. The place is being refurbished and there is a good deal of promise. They need to be better with keeping the family informed and that is my biggest complaint.

I am not too happy with Spring Grove but the therapy girls are so nice! They cooperate with her really well and do the best they can with the language barrier. They understand what my loved one needs and are really trying to do the best they can. The nurses are so nice. I feel like they have so many things to do. The people who take care of my mother are friendly. I also have an issue with getting her a shower. I have had to stay on top of the staff and beg for her to have one. She doesn't complain about the meals.

A Place for Mom has scored Spring Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center 6.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
