We are committed to providing excellent care for all of our residents, even those who may be more challenging to work with.
I put him in there because he was falling and everybody said he would be safer in a home. He fell more there and wound up in the emergency room more than home. The last time I brought him home. He died 11 days later and it has crossed my mind that Mercy Hospital missed something but its water under the bridge. I was told that he had to go into that facility instead of the one on Sterling Drive because they had a better medical staff. They had aides passing out medications and were short staffed a lot. I don't think they had any RN's in the facility so I don't know how they got away with claiming a better medical staff. His case manager was a jerk who cost me $1000 because she didn't do her job. On top of that after causing me an extra day in that pigsty Buffalo Medical Center she said oh well it probably will only be a few bucks like money grows on trees. Most of the aides were great but I wish I would've kept him home.

A place for mom called me back within a minute of my request online. She was so helpful. Gave me direction where to start and make appointments to tour. Gave me names of who to contact. I was given the Peregrines Landing by A place for mom and we ended up going there and touring. We loved it. Thank you for giving us direction and the push I needed to get started.

It seemed like a great place, they told us all the things we wanted to hear. Then after getting our loved one in there, the communication stopped. The place is clean and the staff is nice. But she seems a little un-kept. Her clothes are clean, yet her hair is unclean and is not combed. So, not sure how many times they bathe her. The quality may be nicer than some other places and it doesn't smell like some other places. But when the money runs out, we're back to square one.

The staff has been outstanding with my sister. Every time I visit her she has another story about what she has done that day. She has been very involved doing activities. The road trips are a blessing that are really appreciated. My sister is improving every day. I would and have highly recommend Peregrine Senior Living at Cheektowaga. The cost is steep, but has been well worth it.

Our Mom has lived at Peregrine of Cheektowaga for 18 months. My siblings and I don't live in the area but the staff at Peregrine treat Mom like she is part of their family. She is in the best place she can be.

Management is all super friendly and helpful ([name removed] is a true asset). But the CNA staff changes so frequently that it's hard for my mom to have any standard care or anyone to stay consistent with her needs.

They are seriously understaffed, and some of them actually ignore the residents. Also, there were 'several ' instances where they were or had sent my mother to ecmc without letting me know. Also, she was mobile with a walker for a year b4 going into the facility and within 2 months, she was totally no longer mobile . While the staff was always nice to me, another issue is their total failure to return phone calls. Sometimes it would be over a week

My grandmother moved to Peregrine a few months ago and has made many friends. She enjoys the activities-such as outings, crafts, manicures, and card games. Her room is very spacious and has a little kitchenette with a fridge and microwave.

For the most part everything has been great. But some of their rules are inconvenient. I was told I could use my own pharmacy, but they switched it to their pharmacy, and it is costing me a lot more money. I wish they would inform me about changes in medication upon returning from the hospital.

We will take your suggestion into consideration and work on improving our communication regarding medication changes after hospital visits. Therapy is provided. Menu's are provided each week with an alternate menu available should you not care for the featured menu. This is my first experience with an assisted living arrangement. And my older sister has had lived in California for over 50 years, only deciding to move here on the spur of the moment. But ending up at Peregrine has been a great end to a hard search. I would highly highly recommend them.

They do not encourage or engage the residents in the activities they have. Those activities also do not happen when they are supposed to according to the calendar.

I have had a lot of things going on with my mother and no matter what my concern has been, they have stopped whatever they were doing and listened to my concerns and followed through. They have been proactive when situations have occurred. That is very important. They have always responded appropriately. I would highly recommend Peregrine at Cheektowaga and already have to other friends.

There has been a learning process getting care sorted out for our family. But they're always responsive and take the time to listen when I come to then with concerns. And we usually come to a resolution.

They're very welcoming. And they get the patients involved in a lot of activities. I like the care they give to my loved one overall. We have had some challenges with her in memory care. She'll say she doesn't want them to do things like wash her hair, and I wish they would work harder at getting those things done when she says no. But the food service is great. They have two choices at each meal, and the staff walks around during meals to make sure the resident is eating. If they notice they're not, they'll ask if they want the other choice. They'll prompt the resident if they set down the fork and forget to keep taking bites. I appreciate that they keep a good eye on them and make sure they're eating.

I don't think there was enough activity for the residents. It was very quiet, but for the most part, the residents were left alone and there was not much for them to do. There wasn't really enough staff around to assist with getting them to any activities they did have. The staff were friendly, but a little standoffish. They just did not have enough staff for resident needs overall. When we first moved in, there was nobody who came in to welcome our loved one or explain how things worked. She was pretty much left on her own. Quite a few times when she did need help, it took a very long time for them to respond. The one highlight was the food was good.

We're pretty happy with Peregrine. The place is spotless. We appreciate the staff that is there. I think they do the best they can given the attitude of the person living there. Communication is a little bit of an issue as far as getting responses. I don't expect a response right away, but it would go a couple of days before we would hear back. So just keep on top of communication. We looked at several other facilities, and we're very happy with where she's at.
