Technically Patriots Colony has a Williamsburg address, but it is really out in the country. In order to live here, you have to be a former military officer or retired from the US State Department. Most of the people are retired military. My dad had to put $300,000 down when he first moved in, but 95% of that will go back to his estate when he passes. The food is good, and they do a really good job with the community. They have really made some improvements in the last few years.... Read more

Our family had an in person tour and it was just not a very good experience, we were not impressed and we left knowing this was not the place for our loved one
My father was [name removed]—highly decorated career fighter pilot. Originally, the facility was resident-owned but was commandeered by Riverside Health System. To be brief, the care at Riverside has fallen drastically short of expectations and terms of the contract. During the last stages of my dad’s time there, they were plagued with systemic problems, staffing issues, billing debacles, and administrative complacency. Now, my mother is going through it and it is even worse. There has been a constant stream of incidents, episodes, and outright neglect on occasion. Riverside has expanded the independent living units substantially. However, they did not expand the assisted living and convalescence units to meet the need. There is a bottleneck for availability in convalescence where Mom should be transitioning to receive her top-notch care as she moves towards a hospice situation. The area labor pool is substandard—good help is hard to find. Make a wiser choice, come to Florida!

Compared to the other places we saw, Patriots Colony was more on the lower end, we were not very impressed. The food is about average, and we were able to see the rooms before COVID, and we were not incredibly impressed.

While I have not visited your facility personally - I have had to call. Your Security Guard [name removed], is one of the nicest people I have ever spoken to. He has a warm and friendly demeanor that you can see his smile through the phone. The second time I called, I introduced myself as his new friend and he knew right away who I was. He can make anyone smile with just his upbeat personality and that was only on the phone. Thank you [name removed], you rock!
