The community could be cleaner, especially the dining room but based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend the Park Folsom community to other families.

It is an older facility but with a feel like home vibe to it. The staff is very available and receptive and does the best they can with limited resources. There is a good system in place which works for keeping order and a good balance . You can choose to be more involved or slip into a more private life. Everyone is respectful - for the most part.

It's a nice environment. The community encourages a family environment, the residents look out for one another, support and encourage one another. My mom was welcomed by so many residents that she felt genuinely welcomed.

We picked this community, because of the affordability, independence, friendliness, and activities. My loved one has benefited greatly from living there. It's a great place for people who need to live independently yet have 2 meals supplied, activities and scheduled transportation to stores and dr appts. It's amazingly affordable. They are close to the Senior Center and the library. The residents are very supportive of each other which is lovely to see. The management is involved and very friendly. I love Park Folsom and find them to be a wonderful part of our community.

It is a very friendly and pleasant environment, from staff to residents, and yes I would recommend. Overall, my loved one is extremely happy there, and I am very grateful for an affordable facility with so many amenities .

I would recommend Park Folsom to others. The staff mostly are residents also. They have a good understanding that most of the people moving in are living alone for the first time. My mom cleans her own place, but the housekeepers are very nice and friendly. She knows the non resident staff by name. My mom likes a lot of the meals. Sometimes there's complaints like the chicken was dry or she didn't like the shrimp, but there's also meals that she really likes and gets excited for. The activities could be a little more lively for her, but she does enjoy them. There's not much need to communicate with us unless there's an emergency, which they take this very seriously too. If you miss a meal and don't let them know, they come check to make sure you're ok. When I toured Park Folsom, I knew it was right for my mom.

They take care of my loved one pretty good. It's Independent care They have good food and portions. They have pretty good activites. We picked this community, because of the cost, and close proximity to my home. They need to improve on daily transportation for doctors appointments, and trips to the store for the residents. Overall, I would recommed to other families.

Things are going great, my mother in law loves it and it is working out perfectly. The only problem I had and I talked to them about it. They showed me a filthy room on the tour, but I was able to see past that at the time. Other than that things have been good. She is very happy here at the moment, so we are happy. I would recommend to others looking with a few caveats. Just make sure to be up front with what you expect from them and are on the same page. They are strictly an independent living facility.
The facility is very nice and is a good price. However a handful of the staff could be a little bit more courtesy.

I toured Park Folsom and it smelled like cigarettes and bathroom. The smell was very very strong; it seemed dirty, rundown and kind of low end.
My loved one liked the residents there. Their rates were very reasonable. It's a nice community. However, they are battling a pest problem. And they could do a better job of accommodating special diets. Even though they provide two meals a day, they really don't have good options for vegetarians. She basically got offered cottage cheese every day at every meal. There are a lot of good things at Park Folsom, but there are some issues.
It's a friendly environment and a very clean place. There's a lot of room to move around. When the activities are going, I think they do a good job with that. And they inform the residents over the intercom that things are going on. One of the big things for me is the utilities are covered here. That helps a lot. My apartment is good. I live in a studio, so it's very small. But it works well for me, and the bathroom is a good size. So I don't feel too cramped overall. But there are different sizes of units available here. There's also a big lobby that a lot of people sit in daily, and I have a few favorites I like to see there and visit with. They have it well decorated too, which is nice. It has a good atmosphere.

I think that whatever magic they have has really helped my sister in terms of socializing and participating. She's working with the newsletter and working as a member of the library. She has gone from being totally disengaged from the world to participating in a community. So whatever magic they did, they've got it! She was very dismissive when we were first talking about it, but now she's much more positive than she was six months ago. I haven't met many of the staff, but the person who led the tour and took our deposit was lovely. The food is plentiful, and my sister tells me that because of breakfast, she's hardly hungry for lunch anymore. But that's good, since she hadn't been eating properly for a long time. I feel like it's a great value. She's in better shape than she was when she got there, both physically and emotionally. And our advisor at A Place for Mom was so incredibly helpful in guiding us there.

Very nice facility. Seems clean and staff friendly and helpful. Affordable. Lots of activities but most on hold due to COVID. Was shown the small studio and was adequate. Large garden patio accessible to some rooms.

The only reason I gave it a less than a 5 is because of the smoker smell. Other than that everything has been great here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We chose the facility because of the price, it is unbelievable and she is also on the first floor with a patio. The studio apartment she is has is great size and I would highly recommend them. Mom is very happy here.

It is a very nice place and my dad seems to be very happy here. He has made some friends which is nice. He does say that he is not a fan of the food so that could use some improvement. I like that it is close to the senior community center, the city zoo, a huge park, police department, etc. So there are a lot of close by walking distance activities for seniors. I would recommend to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Park Folsom 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
