I decided to put down a deposit for a room for my mom in early Nov. I was told a possible opening would happen within 2 to 4 weeks. I never heard back from Our House. I called several times but none of my calls were returned. In January, I decided due to the poor communication I would ask for a return of my $500 deposit check. It took several phone calls and messages to finally get in contact with the House Manager. It took several more weeks to get my deposit back. It came back in the form of a company check. A few days after depositing it I was informed by my bank that the check was no good the account it came from was blocked and I was charged $10 for the returned check. I called Our House and they apologized and said they would check into it and get back to me. I called last Friday and still have not heard back. I just called again today, Thursday. I am so frustrated with Our House and the poor communication and accounting. I feel that we are fortunate that I did not place my mom in Our House.

I did not tour the facility in River Falls, it was in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. I toured Our House in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. I was able to get questions answered about the care that is given. I felt it could be cleaner and did notice a sour odor in the air. The carpeting and wall cover are in need of updating. The residents looked happy as they worked on craft projects. I would suggest families take a tour of this community for care.

It is a lovely, warm and welcoming place. We were so glad to find it! Staff is terrific and so is the food! They say they will be hiring an activities person soon...
