Oaks at West Cobb

This beautiful place wowed me at first but they are a disaster! They are understaffed, with residents not getting the housekeeping, laundry and care services promised. Overflowing trash, dirty sheets, lost or ruined clothes. Constant complaints about poor quality, unhealthy food and lack of snacks. The Oaks promises a busy calendar that doesn’t happen and residents are left bored. Management has frequent turnover in many departments and they just lost yet another experienced nurse. If your advisor recommends this place, ask how much commission they get, because that’s the only reason they should suggest it.

My husband has been at The Oaks at West Cobb for 2 Full months and I am very pleased with the care he has received. The staff is always engaged and supportive. It is so nice to be able to be the supportive spouse rather than the caregiver.

Constant staff turnover, constant lack of trained employees, lack of passionate staff caring for residents, lack of nutritional meals, lack of dispensing medications regularly as prescribed, lack of activities, families have to wait to enter memory care to visit love one Two residents escaped from memory care as result of staff negligence. Their solution was to penalize families by not permitting entrance to memory care. Has to wait several minutes for staff to open door Challenging and difficult to communicate with them by phone. Constant no answer. Same applies when. I wiring and waiting for someone to permit entrance into memory care. When ready to leave care staff have to discontinue care for residents to open door for you to exit. Their solution is for families to leave in groups to reduce care staff disruptions Medicine found in my live one bed and on floor. Lack training and oversight of care staff to be assured medication is taken without error

Our family member was one of the first residents to move in the facility. She was given false information about the services the Oaks Ie: Activities , IN and OUT for shoppings, extracurricular ie: coordination with Senior Services etc. The residents are not engaged at.all. It is short staffed and the turn over in Administrators is unacceptable.Protocolsfor Covid, Emergency situations were just put in place.. The food is not nutritious and if you give feedback they will ask you to find another place for your loved one. Would not recommend .

This is a beautiful facility with great spaces both inside and outside. Numerous places for residents to sit and relax as well as family members. Good variety of activities, even though it has been difficult getting my family member to participate. Timely follow-up when I call or text with questions. Units are very spacious which is a plus.

This facility has to be one of the worst in this area of town. Totally mismanaged, extremely high turnover of staff (4 nurses & 4 Directors in 2yrs), unresponsive staff, medication mismanagement, mishandling of falls & need for assistance on part of residents, management staff is unfriendly & unwelcoming towards family members, food is now poorly prepared, police called twice to facility, unsupervised staff, poor cleaning of facility & residents’ rooms, disgruntled & poorly treated staff, poor communication with residents & their families, poor security. No one is really running this place and there’s a severe lack of leadership. Looks fancy but way overpriced for the poor qualify of service here. Would not recommend this facility to anyone who cares about their loved one.

Since mid August, the administration there has completely changed. Very difficult to get hold of them. Very poor communication. They don't return calls. Regular staff are very nice and sweet. Trash seems to frequently be overflowing in the apartment. Move in was very easy! They have a menu for the day, but a lot of times the meals will change without notice. Few condiments are offered. Meals are fair quality, some better than others. I believe residents are afraid to speak up? I hope the administration that is in there now will start to get more organized, hire a better cook and be more in contact with families in returning calls. The activities director is very hands on for those that want to participate and very sweet. Physical therapist is wonderful! Friendly atmosphere, beautiful facility!

This is our second time searching for the perfect place for my sister. After learning the ins and outs of a memory care facility, we knew what to look for and Oaks at West Cobb is delivering. Everything starts with the local management team who emulate the owners mentality. After “surviving” our previous selection, we were on guard for key signs of the places we were interviewing. Oaks at West Cobb offered everything we wanted. 100% of the caregivers are fabulous…this comes from selective hiring procedures and instilling the vision of the top leadership. I highly recommend the memory care wing of the west Cobb location.

Yes! The Oaks at West Cobb is a beautiful facility and the meals are a good variety and well prepared...The facility has had some problems as a result of a lighting strike disabling the elevators for a week and a pipe breaking and flooding a portion of the ground floor for two days. We have had a large staff turnover, but this has been handled well. My overall experience has been good. The facility has been kept clean and the care has been good by a friendly and caring staff. There are plenty of activities including games, movies, entertainers from the outside and staff celebration of birthdays and holidays.

My mom has made so much progress here! At her previous community, she was wheelchair bound. Here she's up and walking around with a walker every single day. They offer so many activities and do a great job of keeping the residents active. We've been very pleased. Her bathroom is large, room is a little smaller. But that's ok, she's not in it much anyway, which is what we'd hoped for. They check on the residents every 30 minutes. I would recommend them to friends and family.
