5 for all categories (except food). The section for dementia residents did not get nice meals like the assisted living residents (I rate his food a 2). They were working on improving. Not sure now if it's better. He really loved Oakmont. We visited often and we were very happy with the facility, staff & the care he received. The staff treat the residents like their own family. Response from Oakmont of Lodi
May 16, 2024Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Oakmont of Lodi. Your recommendation means so much to us.
They didn't seem to have a protocol in place to receive a new resident. So far the staff has been outstanding with interactions, extremely helpful in assistance and upbeat and very pleasant with residents.

Response from Oakmont of Lodi
May 16, 2024Hi there, we really appreciate your positive review! Thank you!
The staff at Oakmont of Lodi are friendly, they seem to be attentive to each resident. The housekeeping does a pretty good job. The move in process, you are on your own to facilitate. Be prepared with help. Communication with the family has been up and down, having a transition with administrator in the Memory Care department (maternity leave, I think). Overall, things have been great for my loved one at Oakmont of Lodi, but I think that the cost is really expensive.

The general manager [name removed] was absolutely terrible. She unilaterally decided my mom should be in memory care in literally after 24 hours in her position. You achieve this goal she sent my mom to the ER FOR A SIMPLE CUT. She then called the ER nurse and asked her to give a diagnosis of dementia. I was standing next the nurse while this conversation happened. We have moved mom because of this vendetta. Please note the frontline staff were amazing. If not for management we would gas remained

Response from Oakmont of Lodi
October 19, 2023Dear Diane, We’re happy to hear that you had a positive experience with our frontline team members; our entire team is dedicated to providing the best care for our residents. We regret that you had a negative experience with management, and we will be looking into this situation to find out how we can do better next time. Thank you for taking the time to reach out.
It's for profit only. They don't have enough staff. They do not pay well. Always someone new everyday. They call the ambulance for "change of condition". Ambulance arrives, they say nothings wrong. Patient gets charged $[removed] for non emergency. Feces and pee in the rooms. Rooms stink. Administrators are bully's, they blame patients for having dementia. It's ridiculous! CDSS called multiple times, substantiated our complaints. Waste of money. We moved my father in law, he is now thriving. No emergencies, clean room. Attentive staff! If we would have left him at Oakmont he would have died!

My dad was at Oakmont of Lodi for 10 months before I moved him to [facility name removed]. The memory care wing at Oakmont of Lodi was horrible. Do not send memory care clients there. It was dirty and poorly staffed with constant problems.
It took a while for us to figure stuff out, there wasn't much guidance. But now that dad has an assigned caretaker we are getting better communication. Also, factor in ambulance rides to your costs if there is a copay and your loved one is prone to falling or needs a lot of adjustment to meds that are urgent due to violent outbursts etc. Most of what I have learned has been through a Facebook support group. I feel that more information could be provided for the families by the MC facility. This may also be due to how long it to Kaiser to get palliative care involved. There's just so much to navigate especially if this all happens quickly. We were very happy with the move in process. They were very helpful. So, overall quite pleased and the staff is really amazing. We just needed more guidance as this was so sudden and very overwhelming. Also, the food is fantastic! Dad raves about it!

Very clean, activities planned for every hour from 9-5 everyday. Friendly residents. My Mom called it 'home' after 3 weeks and staff all know her by name! And the food is so good she gained weight as her doctor had recommended. I would and already have recommended Oakmont of Lodi to others.

I loved the tour at Oakmont of Lodi. I was very pleased with them, as was the case with the other facilities I toured as well. Our final decision came down to location. We chose closest proximity to a family member.
Oakmont of Lodi was a nice place, and our tour was fine. It just didn't fit what we were looking for. It was a very big place, big enough where it seemed like you could get lost in the shuffle. Also the apartments were not as nice as the place we ended up choosing.
They have a lot of services and amenities provided at Oakmont of Lodi, It is like a five star resort

December 11, 2021Hi Anonymous, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Oakmont of Lodi. We're happy we could meet your expectations!
Overall, we are very impressed with Oakmont. It is the kind of place [name removed] feels comfortable in. The food is good, the place is clean, and the staff is competent and friendly. She just doesn't like buying her own toilet paper.

A Place for Mom has scored Oakmont of Lodi 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
