Oak Park Arms Retirement Community

Oak Park Arms is a quiet and safe community that provides me with a homey comfort. I go to all the exercise classes and eat three meals a day at the restaurant where I socialize. My favorite activities are bingo, bunco, and the interesting subjects at the academy for seniors (DVD discussion classes).

Other residents and staff members are friendly, and the food in the restaurant is good. My apartment is good for me. Oak Park Arms staff members care for me. I like playing bunco and other games with my neighbors.

I love living at the Oak Park Arms because I like the friendliness of the people and atmosphere! My apartment is cozy and meets all my needs. I also like that I’m able to live close to family, so the location is great for me.

The main reason why I love it here at the Oak Park Arms is that I’m close to the green and blue lines. Walgreens is also just a short walk away. There are many special events happening here and the staff is willing to work with you.

I enjoy attending many of the activities at the Oak Park Arms Senior Living. I particularly enjoy two discussion groups from the Academy for Seniors at the Arms, “Why you are who you are” and “Security threats to the United States”.

I like everything about the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community from the staff to the entire community of people. I appreciate the cleanliness of the building and my apartment. Staff is always around to help me when I'm in need.

The overall interaction between staff and residents of the Oak Park Arms makes this a real family style operation, and something that all of us are proud to be a part of. I am part of a family here and each employee makes me feel cared for and a part of what life is about, love and caring.

I enjoy the many exercise programs here at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community. The chess club on Tuesdays and Bible study with Pastor [name removed] are other favorites. Also, prayer service with Pastor [name removed] is great.

What I love about my home at the Oak Park Arms is the people. The staff who work here are so friendly and helpful. The other residents who live here are all my friends. Real estate is about location, location, location, but here at the Arms it's all about people, people, people.

I toured several places during my search for Independent Living. Oak Park Arms was my last place to see and I was highly impressed with not only [name removed], who showed me a couple of units, but was truly pleasant and sincere in helping me find a space. My experience at Oak Park Arms in every way was pleasant with housekeeping, communicating with staff and other services. The meals were okay, I was given the opportunity to cook in my own room. I felt welcome and comfortable, not only in my room, but with everyone there. I would highly recommend this facility for the quality and care that they give.

The reason we gave Oak Park Arms the lower scores is because the staff mis-diagnosed my mothers need and forced them to move after being there less than 2 months. It has been very frustrating. We would not recommend the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community if patients have ANY needs.

This was my favorite place, it was nice, welcoming, a good location and accomodating to the individual needs. [name removed] offered much in the price, my only setback again was my income.

Our special friend lived at The Arms, first in independent living and then in assisted living. Her care was excellent in both parts of the facility. It seemed to us that the staff--top to bottom--had a special place in their hearts for her, and I know other families who felt the same. They must all have big hearts! The assisted living staff was especially caring and lovely, and I know our friend was often trying and difficult as she declined before passing away. They were saints!!

[Name removed] and her team were amazing and responsive during the touring and decision making process. My mom loves her apartment and I love the daily courtesy checks...I live on the other side of the country and I feel at ease knowing the staff at Oak Park Arms is there for her if needed

My 80-year-old sister fell and hit her head. She then had short term memory loss and could not live by herself. Oak Park Arms was recommended, and she is very happy there and so am I. She is still in her neighborhood and has friends there that she can see often. Also her doctor is there so it was a great fit for her. She gets everything taken care of, from 3 meals a day to room cleaning. I am very happy with this choice and would recommend it.

We were warmly welcomed by [Name removed] at this clean, historic hotel reconfigured for senior living. It is architecturally interesting, well located, and has an outstanding calendar of activities for the residents. We, however, were not comfortable using the stair lifts which we found complicated to operate and loud.

Overall, I feel that our experience with Oak Park Arms has been very good. Communication between staff seems a bit lacking at times, but overall, they are excellent people. I appreciate that the community is kept very clean, and that there is a full schedule of activities going on to keep everyone busy. I would recommend Oak Park to others.

Everything is going well for my parents. My mother-in-law is doing well and right now it's a day by day experience for us. I'm there almost everyday and I get to talk with the staff and they give me any updates. The community itself is really, really nice and clean.

We toured this community for my wife and me to move into for a nice. The staff was nice and we like the list of meals that are available. We wanted a bigger community. I feel that others might like what is offered. A tour is recommended for the options for a new place to live

I am happy that I moved into this great community. The staff is helpful and the community is clean. I am happy that I can cook for myself and that they have activities that I do enjoy. I like having family nearby. I would recommend others to this community for a great place to call home for a good value.
