Don't take good care of patients, didn't notify me that my mom needed help, found her slumped over after they complained she wasn't going to dinning hall. She passed away three days later. Short staffed would not recommend.

My sister was in the dementia unit. She was there for 8 months. Not once was her room cleaned. The staff is lazy. I caught one of the staff punching and pushing a patient down. The poor woman couldn't speak to tell anyone. I reported her. The patients don't get changed like they should. My sister fell, don't know how long she laid there. She fractured her scapula and was in the hospital for 3 days. She had an untreated UTI as well. One of the patients was admitted with scabies. He scratched for a good 8 weeks before it was addressed. Therefore, everyone else had to be treated. My sister is in a different facility now.

It is very beautiful and well kept but it is more up to the residents to keep up with cleaning their rooms. The overall appearance of everything however is much nicer than country manor where they left from. Although it is quite a drive for me, it is worth a little extra money to have a beautiful place for them to stay and have them happy and the food is better which is important to people.

Did not like the set up of the building, felt very crowded and confusing.
They were very friendly. They need to improve on their level of care for the residents, and be more attentive. They were often short staffed.

I would recommend Northview Estates to others for their loved ones. The cost compared to other communities and the amenities that my loved one receives here, was and is the best price for us here. There is a kitchenette in the apartment and the community does the laundry for the residents. The meals are good for my loved one. The staff are good at making sure that my loved one gets to enjoy their meals. The activities director is really good, and makes sure that the residents are able to participate in the activities.

I would recommend you be careful if placing your loved one in Northview Estates. I don't feel it is a safe place. We expected more closer monitoring of the residents in the memory care, and unfortunately we are finding residents just wandering in and out of rooms and in other resident's beds. The staff doesn't seem like they know anything. The aides aren't given reports. If you ask a questions the staff don't know the answers to it. The food is good and my loved one is eating which is a good thing. I've never seen my loved one participate in activities.

It is a very caring community. It can make it difficult for care due to them being short staffed. However, they do try their best to care for the residents. The communication is very good and they are willing to check in with us whenever something comes up with our loved one.

I would want others to know when looking into Northview Estates that I met with the person in marketing and she was not very friendly or energetic about the place. I crossed it off my list after that but she had a couple of friends who lived here so she chose this facility. She complains about the food here, during covid she is being treated more like a prisoner than an individual. The activities are ones you would do with a kindergarten class. Overall ,we have been disappointed with the facility.

We chose this community because it was in Ellwood citry and that is where my father grew up. Also, he was able to get a 3 room apartment. My dad has one of the larger apartments here, so the size is good. There are things I think that the care services could do better at. My dad is on a special diet and they are feeding him foods he should not have. My favorite part about the community has been the staff members. I would recommend Northview Estates.

We chose this community because of references from other people we know as well as the location to our residence. They have a lot of room sizes to offer. The food has a nice variety. Our favorite part about Northview Estates is the location as well as the friendliness and homeyness that they provide to the residents there.

The manager was pleasant, answered my questions; however, I left with some concerns. I'm not so sure I would care to live there, unless as a last resort.

My father has recently moved into the memory care unit at this community and I am very pleased with how things are going on that unit so far. They always have two nurses on staff with only about nine to ten patients so its a lot more one on one time and lots of activities during the day. The food they serve is okay its kind of generic and could use some improvements. I also was not happy with how things went on the regular assisted living unit . There was never any staff in sight and they did not provide great quality of care down there. I am much happier with him moved into the memory care unit.

A Place for Mom has scored Northview Estates 5.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
