If I could do things over I would never send my mother to any rehab but try for care at home; I think targeted therapy at home or in outpatient facility is better for the elderly. CC set her back weeks! They left her for hours in her own urine/waste. She developed two infections. We had to have them call 911 because of her pain level that was not being addressed (they just could not find a reason for it). The ER doctor noticed a skin infection immediately after we were told 24 hours earlier that her skin was fine. Communication was poor; calls went unreturned at times. We would ask someone to have doctor or the head nurse call us and they did not. I think our family drove them crazy making sure they would go to my mom's room after ignoring her. There are some nice people there, but overall we found the place lacking in many areas. The worst offense is NO ONE cared to ask about my mother's welfare after she went into the hospital and NO ONE returned calls we left to discuss things.

My mother's care was handled as haphazardly as possible. Even with routine family visits, constant questions and inquiries, it seemed because she couldn't speak for herself, nothing was taken seriously or urgently. She suffered with Cdiff infection for days before treatment, physical therapy was nothing more than hard to understand English rapid firing commands that even I found difficult to understand. When she was finally discharged after making no progress, they sent her home with unnecessary meds (the meds were not listed on the discharge paperwork), incorrect prescription and surprise, a cdiff infection. When we called to speak with the doctor to get the prescriptions figured out, we were told there is no doctor there and we were on our own. My mom has been working with an inhome therapist once a week and writhing 2 weeks is able to stand and walk with assistance. They sent her home with a lift bc they said she would never walk again. I wish I had never sent her.

My mommy lives in Genesis multi med on the [removed] she is going through chemo for cancer. She had an appointment today with her oncologist which was screwed up. The transportation was given the wrong address , so my mother missed her appointment with her oncologist. And the sad thing about this, is no one even apologize for this mistake, it was treated as though it was nothing . This is very heartbreaking!!

The only positive thing I can say is that my physical therapy was very good and the nursing staff was nice. The food was barely passable. The only salad dressing in th place was honey mustard (including no oil and vinegar) Hot food was lukewarm. There was no lemon for tea etc etc The social worker was rude. I was there for rehab following a total knee assignment and was placed in a room with a barely conscious woman on a ventilator, as was nearly everyone on the unit. A request to change room because I felt I should have been placed in the transitional care unit was denied because “All beds inthe facility are licensed for rehab”. When I asked to ice my knee I was given ice in a plastic back in a pillow case. When I asked fo help to the bathroom I was told “There it is” by the nursing assistant. I had to ask for a walker. The doctor who came to examine me did an inappropriate breast exam. I had give my medical background to the nursing staff, doctor, social worker etc. Evidently they lack a unified medical record. This is only a fraction of my complaints. Stay away I left after 2 days instead af staying the expected week.

Poor communication among care staff to assist with patient care. Active families are pacified with handwritten notes left for next shift. There is little or no follow through on health care or family request/concerns. As the ER doctor said such facilites see the age/number not the patient's needs. Three shifts of RNs, therapists & the house MD did not make efforts to diagnose symptoms after family and techs brought up concerns. The professional staff made medical excuses without medical interventions. Excuse #1 is a vitals are fine.

We had mom at Holly Hill Manor for almost 2 years. The staff took wonderful care of mom when she was there, they are a group of dedicated and caring nurses. When I visited with mom everyone of them greeted me with love and compassion and when I left after my visit I was assured she was in good hands. The staff in the dining area took good care of making sure mom ate and if she was not happy with the meal they would get her what she wanted The Therapy staff handled her with kindness.

A Place for Mom has scored Multi-Medical Center 5.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
