Response from Mt. Arlington Senior Living
September 30, 2024Thank you for your kind words. It’s always an honor when multiple family members choose to be a part of our community. We’re so glad to hear that your sister is happy here and that we could provide support and care for your mother-in-law in our Bridge to Rediscovery memory care neighborhood. Please know that you and your family are always welcome here at Mt. Arlington Senior Living.
It is an absolute surprise, I love it there. The team is great and attentive, the food is excellent. What I like the most is the visible connection of the team. Each person makes visual contact. The food is great. The entire experience is like one is going on vacation and feel like you will be walking into the back where there will be a swimming pool with a bar in the pool. The response on inquiry is faster than most places. I love it there. Sincerely [name removed]

Response from Mt. Arlington Senior Living
August 29, 2024Christine, thank you for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you love it at Mt. Arlington Senior Living. Our team works hard to create a warm, attentive environment, and we’re glad that their connection with residents stands out. Your feedback is very much appreciated and we’re so happy to have you here!
The facility is clean and I am pleased with the majority of the staff. They are good to my mom which is the most important point. The food needs improvement as well as the activities for the residents, especially the crafts. More activities should be directed to the male population. Smoking is allowed on one side of the front porch but there is no barrier to separate it. Therefore, the wind blows it which bothers some residents. I would recommend the facility because they do not nickel-and-dime you like other facilities.

It is in a great location and they really make you feel like home. The rooms are nicely sized and for the price you can not go wrong.

May 10, 2024Claire, thank you for sharing your experience at Mt. Arlington Senior Living. We're delighted to hear that you find our community so friendly and welcoming, with wonderful food and in a great location. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we're committed to continuing to exceed your expectations.
The staff is friendly and courteous. The facility has a front porch but it would be nice if there was a larger space for residents to enjoy the outdoors. My father-in-law tells us that the food is not so good, not much flavor and meat is tough. He does seem to like the breakfasts.

January 24, 2023Thanks for your compliments for our team -- and for your recommendation!
Overall, it's a very nice, friendly, clean place that I think anybody would be happy living in. My loved one seems happy there for the most part. I think the staff try to do the best they can for her when she voices a concern. They seem like good people overall. She likes the food generally. For the most part, it's been a pretty good experience.

September 2, 2021Thank you for the review and for sharing your impressions with us. We’re happy to read you find the community neat and clean with a friendly, helpful team -- and are ecstatic to hear you would recommend Mt. Arlington Senior Living.
We did a virtual tour with Mt. Arlington and it was a very nice facility. It was actually our second choice, but we had previous experience with another facility and this one was a little further away for family members.

June 9, 2021Thanks for taking a tour of our community and we were glad to read you were impressed with what you saw. Please let us know if you have any additional questions, and best wishes as you explore senior living options.
I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. This seemed like a nice place! It was clean, the staff and residents looked like they got along well, and there seemed to be a lot of activities. It was a bit too far to be an option for our family, but it was somewhere I would have been comfortable placing my loved one.

One thing they have done that has been very very nice is that the first day my mother-in-law was there all the department heads stopped by to meet her personally. They know and greet her by name. It has been really very good. Her condition greatly improved during her stay there at Mt. Arlington Senior Living and I would highly recommend them.

Mt Arlington is a lovely assisted living facility. The overall staff are friendly and the facility kept very clean and decorated beautifully. The Bridge to Rediscovery Unit (aka-dementia unit) however, needs some improvement in communication with staff and family members. These residents have no one to communicate for them. If questions are asked regarding their activities or care, you do not always get an answer. As this is not a nursing home, there is no documentation as to how their day went, how they slept, if showered etc. We are asked to question the nurse about all these things. As she visits these residents she is aware of their medical needs but isn't there all day to know all these answers. As you must be an advocate for an ill parent or loved one, you need to question things. Unfortunately, you feel certain nursing staff(director) trying to avoid you and will not even acknowledge you. This is disappointing, but overall they are friendly and try hard to accommodate you. The staff does their best on a floor that I'm sure can be very difficult. Activities on this floor, again, while difficult, need extra hands to assist. Perhaps trying to reach out to nearby towns, schools, churches etc for volunteers to assist with crafts, games etc.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for a loved one. Overall this seemed like a very nice place! It was clean, well kept, and the staff all seemed friendly. However, during the tour we just didn't see many people out socializing, and my loved one really wanted somewhere with an active social atmosphere.

So far, they have been very attentive to my Aunt's needs. I think the amount charged for her med mgmt is too high, as she only takes 3 pills a day.

So far we're very pleased with how things are going at Mt. Arlington Senior Living. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and they made it a very smooth transition for my loved one. The facility itself is nice looking and clean, and they've been able to provide for all of his care needs here without incident! They also appear to have a lot going on for the residents to do, although my loved one hasn't participated much.

Everything is a five. The community is clean and the staff is a very friendly. We’ve been very happy with them. The only concern is that there were some issues when we first moved in. The activities are all acceptable.

A Place for Mom has scored Mt. Arlington Senior Living 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
