I tell anyone who asks that my father has been doing so well since moving in. He's calm, relaxed, always seems content, swelling in ankles has gone down. We liked the area, quiet dead end street. How clean it was, was very noticeable. Caregivers are very attentive to him and other residents. After my visits with him there, I always feel very good knowing he is in good hands.

They didn't give my dad a chance. They called an ambulance and sent him to an emergency room after only 2 nights. My mom had to pay a fortune and hire an aide. I watched the hired help there sitting there on their phones. Also, my mom didn't get much money back and going to emergency room for someone with dementia was terrible.

Overall I feel Morningside is a good community. The response times quoted to us on the tour have not been at all what my dad has experienced. They told us 7-11 minutes from when he pushes the call button. The fastest time he has consistently seen is 15 to 20 minutes, but has often seen 44 min to an hour, 2 hours and sometimes no one came at all. Response times are much worse at night and on weekends. In-house PT provider is a 6 out of ten. They seem to look for reasons not to give my dad PT. He had Covid so was quarantined for 10 days. That's fine, but his PT didn't resume for almost 20 days at which point we complained and it resumed. My dad has some scabs and dry skin on his lower legs. Has had them for years. Then one day that suddenly became a "wound care" issue and his PT was halted for another several weeks. Dad has lost a lot of ground with his ability to walk because he has gotten PT about half of the two months he has been there. On the plus side, MorningSide is very clean and well kept; furnishings and fittings are in good repair and atmosphere is clean/ does not reek of urine. Most of the staff has been friendly but a few have been scratchy/irritable with my dad when he called them. Again worse with night and weekend staff. He does get his meds regularly and onsite pharmacy is very convenient.

We toured Morningside House of Ellicott City and it was a great place. I really liked it. The Memory Care section is newly renovated and the rooms are nicer than some of the other facilities that we toured.

We chose Morningside over others mostly due to its location (on 5 mins from prior resident) and because they offer a month to month with a lower community fee than most other facilities in the area. The staff all seem friendly and helpful. The community needs to work on its response time to panic buttons. They do provide weekly laundry and room cleaning.

I attended a birthday dinner for the month of [date removed], as this was my mom's birthday month. I want to comment on how pleased I was with the meal as well as the service of the staff. I had requested if the chef could do something different for my meal, which he did (changed the vegetable). This is the second time (year) the chef has accommodated my request, which I appreciated. Also, the food was excellent, so kudos to the chef !!! Also, I want to thank [name removed] for assisting my mom with eating her meal, which I was unable to do. [name removed] came to the activity room and was able to help mom eat her dinner. She is very patient with my mom, even in memory care, so thank you [name removed] for your patience and assistance.

I toured Morningside House of Ellicott City and it would've been our top contender. It's a beautiful space when you walk in, and the rooms were nice. The only reason we chose another community was because of Morningside's proximity to family.
My husband was only here for a couple of weeks. He was a very difficult case, he had dementia and they have 2 different levels of care at this facility. They have those who have beginning stages of dementia and he was in the lower level of the more severe cases. There were 5 women and none of them really talked or walked around much and my husband was very anxious and wanted to get out. He did take a couple of falls while he was here but I think it was no fault of theirs. After he got back from the hospital we put him on hospice. Overall the staff really tried their hardest while he was here and the management was very good and super caring.

we've made the decision to move my loved one out of Morningside House. they are now in need of memory care, and Morningside does offer it. however, I'm not too happy with their staffing retention and lack of staff. I made several calls and sent several emails (over the course of 3 months) asking for my loved one to be reassessed. they did not respond to nor act on this request until another family member visited the community and sat in the office; practically demanding assistance. there was also a time when my loved one pressed their alert button and no one ever showed up to see what they needed. they could have been in serious trouble, so that is obviously very concerning. I do think that the problems I had were tied into their staffing issues, but it's still not okay.
This was a wonderful community and the people were wonderful. My loved one just felt more comfortable at another community. The tour was great and they gave me all of the information that I needed. This was the second choice of where to go with our loved one.
This community was not community orientated and felt more like a hospital with medical carts in the hallways. There also was a high sales pitch which was uncomfortable to me. The community was also older and could have used some updates.
We had a good tour at Morningside House of Ellicott City. And I liked the location.
Our family had a virtual tour, it was rally good they were very helpful in answering all of our questions and they even gave us suggestions for other communities we were looking at.
