Montclair Estates

Not exclusively a senior living community They have been moving in a lot of younger people with children. We chose this community because of the fact that it was a listed as a senior living facility. I would not recommend this community for senior living.

My mom lives here at Montclair Estates and its amazing how well the staff takes care if someone here. She was locked out of her apartment and they made sure she got inside and was all taken care of before they left. I really appreciate them treating like she is family.

I have always had a fantastic time when I visit my friend at Montclair Estates. We have lunch about twice a week in their dining room and the food is delicious. I also get invited to their parties that are always so nice.They are so friendly and kind I hate to leave, but I plan on moving there this summer.

The Standard of Ethics in a listed as “Senior Living” is lacking by far. In my opinion Montclair Estates needs to make improvements on compassions, empathy and dealing with the elderly. The staff leave notes on the front door, telling the residents to Exact: We need all apartment back balconies cleaned out, you can only have patio furniture. Also, the front balconies cannot have equipment, bicycles, dead plants, dried plants, please have fresh ones, you will to until this Friday, February 15, 2019 to have everything cleaned out if not, we will have to throw them out on Monday February 18, 2019. When dealing with elderly they should be respected, encouraged & supported . This is unacceptable. 3 days to request anything from disabled or elderly and to threatened to throw their things out , could be traumatic.

My mother has been living in these assisted living apartments for 1 year now it haven't been a very pleasant stay for her she's being arrest weekly from other residence there based on the fact that she choose to do her laundry weekly she's retired she have set and scheduled a she do certain things and I don't think that that should be a problem the washers are free to homeowners that live there and she shouldn't have to be a rest requesting information regarding how to get in touch with the corporate manager and owner of these apartments I'm also contacting the Better Business Bureau in regards to my mom harassment

Senior living can be stressful, but finding the community at Montclair Estates in Garland, Tx. was like a dream come true. My son had several concerns like being able to socialize, medical accessibility, and several other items. The staff at Montclair Estates: [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] were able to answer all questions and assured us both that Montclair would be the perfect environment for me!! The staff make themselves available for any questions and go out of their way to find answers for you. [name removed] is not only the manager but she wears many other hats also like: confidante, therapist, friend!!!! It never fails how small or large the questions or problems [name removed] fixes everything!!!! [Name removed], handles calls, maintenance requests, and anything else the residents may need. The social life is managed by [name removed]. [name removed] has set up a schedule that is printed monthly, then posted daily for the residents to follow. We have games scheduled, bible studies, outings, weekly restaurant outings, Bingo, exercise classes, cannot forget the Ice cream Socials, Happy Hours, and Monthly parties like Casino Night, 4th of July Bar-B-Que. The activities are fabulous and entertaining as well. We have had bands, Karaoke, magicians!!!! Our schedules stay very busy with all the activities available to the residents. The cafeteria chef, [name removed], provides menus that are delicious!!!! [Names removed] all work together in the Kitchen to make each and every meal special and provide for all your wants and needs!!!! [name removed] provides transportation for the residents to and from Dr. apt.., Walmart, banks and other outings. [name removed] provides all your needs in the Beauty Salon on site. [name removed] keeps everything running in tip top condition and if you have any problems help is just a phone call away. The Housekeeping staff [name removed] and [name removed] provide cleaning and laundry services for residents!!! Other amenities include a Dr. that makes house visits, Medical professionals that come to the site and provide therapy, aides assisting with bathing, laundry, and general house keeping. In addition to all the above mentioned amenities Montclair Estates also has a large pool, Outdoor Grilling facilities, Study and Game room, exercise room, library. Lastly are the residents that live at Montclair Estates, beautiful people ages ranging from 55 yrs. and up, and/disabled. All living in their own separate apartments to maintain a sense of independence yet any services needed are readily available.

Had a great experience during my visit. Really looking forward to live here in the future.

Hands down this is a 5 star place and my friend loves it here. We come over to play cards all the time and they let us spend the day. We can even buy lunch in the dining room. Every week they have a party for the people who live there but they can invite friends too. I am planning on moving here in July.

I have had nothing but fun here at Montclair. I enjoy the brain games, morning walks with [name removed] and when we get to take trips different places each week. The food is always good and I get to meet my friends and eat in the dining room everyday.

I have had a great time living at Montclair Estates. The food is good, the people are nice. I like the trips we take to the farmers market and shopping. I do not drive anymore so it is helpful to get that assistance. I never have to worry about anything. They take care of it for you.

Everything is horrible and they change staff every couple months

I just went to their senior dating event and met some nice ladies. I get an invite to their stuff all the time and I have not even moved in yet. I am looking forward to making new friends and having a place to socialize. Their food is some of my favorite. I get to bring my dog, Jake and the people in the office made it easy for me to get my paper work filled out and approved.

I toured Montclair Estates while looking for options for my dad. This community was a regular apartment community that has been converted to senior living. I really didn’t feel that this community suited my dad very well. Meals were not included in the rent, and they had very limited opportunities for exercise and activities. We decided to choose another community with more opportunities for socialization.

I liked living at this community, unfortunately I had to leave as they are not real handicapped friendly. It is a large clean community. The staff is nice. The food was good.

Montclair Estates is a perfect independent community for us as it is a small place and the main focus is on the residents. We did have one minor issue with the maintenance department involving getting an outside light changed. The staff had to take the maintenance man by hand to our apartment to get the bulb changed. The staff have been there for a long time and there is very little turnover which means the employees are treated well and this has a great effect on how the residents get treated. The food is great from the salad to the desert. I would suggest that all the maintenance issues are resolved before you move into any community. This community is well maintained and I would highly recommend it.

This location has large apartments. Although they are full apartments with plenty of room they are not ideal for disabled or with limitations. Concerns we had were relating to the general condition and upkeep of the site. There seemed to be deferred maintenance signs (paint carpets that should be replaced not cleaned). We were greeted by the daughter of Vanessa who was blas about showing us the location. When showing the Salon it was this is temporarily closed some dispute happened I don t know . If my mother didn t have COPD - maybe she would have liked this location. Expense is low but you get what you pay for.

We toured this community while looking into senior living options for a loved one. We all thought Montclair Estates was a very nice looking place! The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional, they're definitely worth a look!

We have not moved in yet. Only just made arrangements. But based upon the tour I must say this place is a dramatic improvement over Brookdale at Club Hill where we stay presently. Our new appt. is twice as big. Includes the same services we need. And after crunching the numbers, $601 cheaper! As for Brookdale formerly Chambrel at Club Hill, it has been slipping every sence a huge nation wide business bought it. Especially the food. Another plus about Montclair is the mgr. Vannessa cut the extra resident fee in half voluntarily, allowed us to spread out the entry fee & there was no initial or monthly expense for a pet. Finally, when contacting the office, we actually got the office & all it intails instead of dealing with an inept teenager at the "concierge" desk only to be told that the "director" you must talk to is not available. All in all we are quite impressed with Montclair Estates. Having had some experience now with a retirement community we have found that there is much more to consider than the landscaping & layout. We whole heartedly reccommend visiting with Vannessa. You wont be disappointed.
