Our loved one has been at meadow Gardens since 2022. Since then, the facilities have been sold three times which means the staff and change in people had occurred impacting the quality of care and the overall stress on the resident. The caregivers are wonderful med tech are wonderful, but the people who run the facility is like the staff sergeant not their own employees and they don't know how to handle dementia. Even the neurologist said they must not understand these people to know what to do to redirect, etc.

The caregivers are the best part of Meadow Gardens. They are doing great work. The facility is going through new owners/management so everything feels to be in turmoil. The Activities person hasn't been there in three weeks. Too much time with nothing for the residents to think about. They are not good about keeping up with laundry which is awful because most are incontinent. Food is just ok.

Response from Meadow Gardens of Menlo Park
March 22, 2024Hello! Thank you for sharing! Our staff are top-notch and have been really a beacon during the change in management. Thank you for your feedback, we will look into this. If you could please call us or visit so we can discuss specifics, that would be extremely helpful. Thank you again! - Cogir of Meadow Gardens
Meadow Gardens is a gem: quiet, sunny, nice grounds & patio. The staff is very friendly. I can't speak to the meals or activities as my conservatee has become so disinterested in the world. Value for cost 5 plus. Overall experience, cleanliness, and quality of care gets a 5 star plus. Only misgiving is that they have changed director twice since August. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Everything gets 5 stars at Meadow Gardens - we are unsure about the meals and dining service so we are not able to give that one a rating. What we really like about this community is how incredibly responsive the staff team is. There are also a lot of different activities for the residents to take advantage of.

The activities person is amazing! She's sweet, easy-going and very genuinely caring. The cleaning and personal care staff seem pretty good, but short staffed. They did not do my mom's laundry the entire first week and were supposed to do it twice. She ran out of long pants and they put dirty ones on her from her hamper. This infuriated me and since I complained to the Program Director, it has not been a problem again. As an advocate to a loved one, you just have to visit often to ensure everything is being done properly, but this goes for all facilities for seniors. Her bedroom is kept very clean and the facility is the same. Mom seems to like the food, but the snacks are too carb/bread heavy. The activities are pretty good and lots of music.

Extremely high turnover of staff. New director has never sent us any email communication to family members. Keeping team informed about updates. Prior directors sent routine emails. Staff doesn't keep family updates with respect to falls, eating issues, changes in patients' conditions, etc. This is especially worrisome since family cannot enter the facility due to COVID.

June 13, 2019Joan, thank you for your review. We take great pride in our staff who help ensure that each resident has the best experience possible.
My mother is still taking some time to adjust with the move into the community. So far the community is a good one. The place is very clean and nice looking, no problems with that. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly. They do have good activities for the residents to participate in. Overall, this is a good community that I would recommend.

June 13, 2019Thank you for your review. We are excited to have your loved one with us at Meadow Gardens of Menlo Park. Thank you for your trust in our staff to provide exceptional care for those who matter most
I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Nazareth seemed like a nice enough place. It was a little on the expensive side for the level of care they provide, however. The community also didn't seem as active as I was wanting for my loved one, there were a lot of people just sitting in the hallways.

The place at Nazareth Classic Care Community is extremely clean. It is a very nice attractive facility. The staff is really great - very caring. Some of the caregivers speak very little English so there can be some communication gaps at times between them and the residents. It was really a very positive experience and I would highly recommend them. My husband is doing very well there.

Beautiful places to sit outside and walk. Nice staff. Gorgeous activities room. Dining area is lovely. All people sit in this room. Provides awake staff at night which all 3 facilities I saw today did, a plus for my father. An affordable rate. Staff not as knowledgeable as Silverado, but better than Palm Villas.

A Place for Mom has scored Meadow Gardens of Menlo Park 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
