Tour of Ivy Park

We took a tour of Ivy Park at Palo Alto during our search for a facility for our loved one. This facility was okay. The cleanliness and friendliness was okay. However, I never felt a warmth from the facility or during the tour. We decided to keep searching.

Sunrise does not pay its debts

My wife resided at Sunrise of Palo Alto until her death on [date removed]. The Palo Alto Sunrise agrees that it owes me a refund of $1,173.12 for the fees covering the period after her death. I have been trying to get the refund since [date removed] with emails, letters, and telephone calls, but have received nothing so far, and no explanation for the failure to pay!

Friendly, Helpful Staff

From the looks of our visits, my mom is experiencing a good, new lifestyle. She has made the transition just fine. We are getting the doctor set up and I am familiar with the staff. They are great workers and I think the facility is great too. The manager, staff, nurses, are all very nice, all kind and all helpful. She has a private room with a nice patio to sit out on in. We are please with selecting this community for my mom .

Positive atmosphere!!

I have been very pleased with my grandmothers transition into this community. [Removed] and [Removed] where very helpful with the move in process and made sure we got settled okay. I like that it is a smaller facility and she has really seemed to make some friends while she has been there. They have great activities and even have a beauty care team to make it so my grandma does not have to leave to get her hair or podiatry done. Overall I am very happy with the quality of care my grandmother has been receiving.

Make sure you understand what care level you are going to be getting. There's a level of unresponsiveness with some of their departments. I think the community is very, very cool. I love it! The responsiveness is the biggest concern.

not quite clear about how all the medical stuff works

We have no issues with Sunrise of Palo Alto. The only thing I would mention is we are not quite clear about how all the medical stuff works. We transferred him from one system to another so there has been some confusion. We got all of that resolved already though. Other than that it has been a really good experience at this facility.
