The Mayfield Retirement Center feels welcoming and homey. Everyone from the Administrator to the cleaners are concerned about each and every resident. The interactions between people who work there and each resident make it clear that they care. Even the residents are very friendly. My husband was making friends within two weeks after he arrived there. He is slow to pick up on the activities I think he would like, but a comment to those on duty gets him a reminder of them. I was concerned at first about there not being a nurse on duty, but have found that when one is needed, they have nurses on call. Even a trip to the hospital was made much easier by the help of the staff. If the need ever arises for memory care, my husband will need to move to another facility, but maybe by that time he will not know or care. I have passed on the name of this facility to friends who are preparing for the eventuality of their loved one needing to go to an assisted living facility. The tour given me when I was looking for a place was the deciding factor.... Read more

My loved ones are in a room made out of cinderblock with no window. It reminds us of a hotel from the 60's that got converted into a community. The community has been able to accommodate my loved one's preferences of eating in their room. The room is a adequate and they were able to bring their own furniture. They have a small refrigerator, microwave, and a sink in their room. The community has a porch and an activities room for the residents.

We were not impressed. Did not like the rooms without private showers.

I think they've done a great job so far at Mayfield Retirement Center. I really like the smaller size of the community, everyone gets a lot of individual attention. You're not just a number here. The staff are very friendly and professional, and they've been taking great care of my loved one, she is doing very well here.

Warm and friendly family run community. I was there for respite care following surgery and found everyone willing to go out of their way to assure my comfort while healing.

They only have a semi-private room for assisted living. BUT they do have 1 private room left for independent living, she said she can turn that room into an assisted living for $3300. INCLUDES everything including the meds.
