My mom is extremely independent and the thought of moving to a “ facility” was unbearable for her. Magnolia Springs has more of a hotel feel, at the same time providing the assistance she needs. Although the adjustment is difficult for Mom, she seems to be happy with her surroundings and the people working and living there, and she and I are so pleased with the quick response when an emergency situation arose.... Staff seemed happy with their jobs. Residents were all happy as well. [Name removed] made a good impression. It’s evident he loves this community. Lots of activity is available for residents and families are welcome. Expect a follow-up call after your visit. This is good practice! I hope to introduce my parents to this new location soon.

My dad fell 10 times in 5 weeks. Need better pre admission assessment to identify potential patients. Hourly checks should be an interaction with the patient, not just looking in the door to see them sitting in a chair. Memory patients don't know what they need. Nutrition was not a priority! Served lots of carbs. Presented sweets before meal completed giving patients the opportunity to bypass nutrition. Did not help patients cut up meat, even though patients had no access to a knife. Very disappointed in the care from such a beautiful facility. Feel very guilty for trusting them with my dad.

Response from Magnolia Springs Southpointe
November 5, 2019Thanks for your review!
My 89 yr. old mother spent 8 months here, and I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff is caring, loving, and friendly. They make every resident feel special, I have witnessed them doing it over and over again. Never once did I see or hear a grumble or see a grimace from a staff member there. In fact, they were eager to help and lend comfort and provide the best care they possibly could. My mother called the staff her "angels" - all of them - her housekeepers, maintenance, dining and food service staff, admin and management, front desk, nursing staff and her wonderful caregivers . I agree with Mom, they all were angels. The facility itself is very clean and very well maintained and managed. It is beautifully furnished and laid out thoughtfully for the comfort of residents and their visiting families. The close proximity to many key medical complexes in the area is a real plus. There are a lot of activities for residents, and the staff strives to get residents participating and stay engaged. I highly recommend Magnolia Springs at Southpointe for anyone looking for the very best care available for their aging parent.

My 90 year old Mother has been at Magnolia Springs at Southpoint for about a month. I recently came to visit her and stayed 2 nights and 3 days. All the staff I talked with were very friendly and caring. The residents I met were also friendly. The dining room had good food, a nice variety of choices and specials, and the waiters/waitresses were attentive (all but one who showed favoritism to certain residents). I liked the bistro as it is a handy solution for snacks for the residents. I was impressed with the decor, the library, and the color schemes. The pictures on the walls throughout were very pretty. The grounds, building, and interior were well maintained. There was a variety of activities for the residents to participated in. I feel much better about the fact that Mom needs to be in an assisted living facility now that I have visited. (My favorite staff member was [name removed] at the front desk).

[Name removed] seems to be doing a great job. Chef [name removed] and his team always have a very nice Thanksgiving for the residents and families. Wish the happy hour was more of a social gathering BEFORE dinners, with specialty drinks. Wish my loved one would go on outings. The reception desk has great staff. The facility is nice and clean. Activity schedules lots of changes and what happened to popcorn in the theater?

March 29, 2018Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. It's wonderful to hear that what we try to do, each and ever day, does work. Susan Albers, Executive Director
When mom was sick they let me know she was sick+ thought she needed to go to the hospital. They were really watching her. Ended up she has flu strain A + pneumonia. She was in the hospital 3 days, when she came home she said the staff treated her like a "princess". We were so pleased at the level of service the staff provided.

As an RN for decades, my awareness of quality (or lack of) care of the elderly+even more, elders w/ dementia is very keen. I researched+chase mag spr based on reviews; I now have a constant song in my heart. Tech to pt. ratio ideal! 3:18. And caregivers are happy, self-motivated, truly concerned [removed] If's a dream realized for me after horrid prior facility.

March 29, 2018Thank you so much. We pride ourselves on quality services and amenities; however, great caregivers and other staff are harder to find in many communities and we are blessed to have a wonderful staff. We will certainly miss your father! Susan Albers, Executive Director

March 29, 2018Lynn: Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. Many places can be "beautiful" and ours certainly is; however, it is the quality, care and concern of the STAFF who make a community truly special and a place you would want your loved one. We think so too. So, once again, thank you for your kind words! Susan Albers, Executive Director
What an awesome facility & such an answer to prayer. We recently moved our parents into Magnolia Springs - They are 96 years old and the transition has been rough, but amazing. The staff is so kind, caring + supportive that all the rough spots were made much smoother by them. So nice to also go somewhere that every employee loves+enjoys their job!!! Special thanks to facility helpers [name removed] for going that extra mile with our folks!

March 14, 2018Thanks, Mary! We are so pleased that your mom is doing so well. SHE is phenomenal! Susan Albers, Executive Director
My siblings and I are so pleased that our Mom is a resident at Magnolia Springs! She has a 1 BR assisted living apartment. The caregivers and dept directors are outstanding! The meals are delicious (and there are lots of choices) - even the wait staff knows all the residents names! The facility is beautiful and offers many activity choices, it's such a relief to know that mom is safe and well cared for.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
