Magnolia by the Lakes

Magnolia is the place to be. Magnolia's staff makes it feel like a home away from home which is exactly what I was looking for. The care staff and administration are the most attentive and informative people. The amenities are absolutely beautiful and the meals are 5-star. I would recommend this place to everyone.

First off it was well known that my father had dementia and I was assured by Dr. [name removed] that their facility is the best and they could handle him. It was a nightmare and he kept getting out of the "secure" facility and the police were called numerous times and I was getting calls at all hours of the night to come there and handle him. The assisted living staff were constantly on their phones all night, or missing and they did not even speak to the residents unless they were paid extra. My father was shamed and blamed for being confused and she even charged us extra for an "accident" even when we were already paying for extra care to watch him!! There was no activities unless the residents with dementia could participate in the independent living activities. I was threatened that they were going to kick him out if I didn't pay for 24/7 care. I moved him immediately and he did much better in another facility where they treated him with dignity and compassion. Biggest XXK [amount removed] mistake!!

A senior living facility should be rated by its ambiance, cleanliness, staff, food, units and safety. Magnolia by the Lakes (both independent and assisted living) gets five stars in all of these factors. The buildings are beautiful. The chandelier in Magnolia south takes your breath away. The place is meticulous. The Owner pays attention to every detail. The staff are well dressed and treat you with respect and understanding. The President and, owner is professional, kind and genuinely cares for seniors. The food is great and the chefs prepare meals specifically tailored to your diet. The little town of Keego Harbor is extremely safe. The caregivers work hard to please you. You can tell the residents at Magnolia are happy the minute you walk in. They come and greet you and tell you what a wonderful place Magnolia is. Highly recommended by its residents.

Professional and caring staff, beautiful facility, great food, honest and loving owner. Cannot ask for more. A must see facility.

The best place ever

Wonderful, just wonderful Senior community. The owner is the kindest , most caring, helpful person I have ever met.

Magnolia By the Lakes Assisted Living facility is really the best in Michigan. They really take care of you and your parents. The personnel is unbelievably helpful, friendly and professional. I have never seen such a clean place. I highly recommend a visit. They take good care of their residents. You really feel at home specially when you meet the owner.

I had a terrible experience at Magnolia. They have 20 units on the Assisted Living side. In the evenings they had only one person on staff to help with 20 people. There were many times that my mom did not get feed her dinner. I had to go home and get her a plate and feed her myself.I don't feel they were getting her medication in a timely fashion. I worry about the residents who don't have a voice to advocate for them. There is very high staff turn over. It was a horrible experience.

My mother has been at Magnolia by the Lakes since [date removed] and I must say I'm extremely glad she and I chose Magnolia. The staff is extremely attentive and caring, they are like family to me and my mother. She had to stay at another facility when she declined for rehab for 6 days and it really showed me the difference between a top notch facility like Magnolia and one that is not. Mom came back to her original, beautiful room with additional care and services that have helped her tremendously! Magnolia's been wonderful for us and I would recommend it highly to anyone who is nervous about their parents getting the best care possible at a reasonable price. The Senior Independent, Magnolia South, is very new. Beautiful, great staff, delicious and super huge meals. Best place for anyone over 55. Love the place. My dad lives there. We visit twice a week and we all love it.

This is my humble and honest response to the lady who supposedly toured aMagnolia and was asked by the Marketing Agent about her price range. It is funny. If you want to buy a house, don't you first give your price range or do you expect the real estate agent to show every house at every price there is? I have toured Magnolia. Their prices range from about $3,000 to $15,000 per month. How is the Marketing Agent supposed to know your price if you don't let her Know? Second, This Community is so high end and their portions are so large that you don't need a second portion and if you do they will give you since it is beneath them to refuse you seconds. You got your senior communities mixed up. I have toured and had lunch there. I have my Mother-in-law there and we all love Magnolia.

A beautiful place at reasonable price.

What I like most about Magnolia by the Lakes is the honest way they deal with potential residents. they respected me and ask about my price range that my Dad could afford. They should us what we needed and even dissuaded us from spending too much by getting a larger unit when he didn't really need two bathrooms. They treat you with dignity, respect and transparency. It was as if we were dealing with an adviser and not a sales person. Also, the food is great! Love it. Love it.

This place is unbelievable- absolutely beautiful. No place like it. A must see.

I did not get a good feeling from this place. The lady that was helping us was more concerned about how much money we had instead of the care and quality of work that she was going to give my father in law. I felt that they were on a budget because the residents could not have seconds of food.

I have no complaints about the tour my family and I received from this community, the building was beautiful inside and out and was very well maintained. I enjoyed the different amenities they offered as well as how spacious the lobby and dinning room was . It was just not the right fit for my dad.

Magnolia by the Lakes offers a nice looking, clean indoor environment, but the help they hire is underwhelming. Very underwhelming. And the owner shows no interest in her investment. Some of the aides they hire do not seem to like old people, some are slow and lazy. Only 3 aides are good, caring, professional, truly hard Working. Magnolia's Care Services do not communicate with each other very well, and both company's management is all lip service. Three meetings with them have produced nominal results. They just do not follow through with any "care plan" you offer up for your loved one. Hopefully this review will stimulate them to care a little more about the care they say they will provide.

I moved my mother to Magnolia by the Lakes and it was a great decision. She loves it there, she gets great care, and they are very nice, and accommodating. I am so glad I found this place. She has everything she wanted in an assisted living place at price she can afford.

I sleep better at night knowing my parents are at Magnolis By the Lakes. My parents have been moved 3 times this year to and from Assisted Living Residence. Reason for most moves is poor care. At Magnolia, Staff is friendly and helpful. Jason was very accommodating and still available to assist after the move in. Location is beautiful between 2 lakes and although a 25 minute drive for me, traffic is light. Monthly fees are very reasonable and full of value such as; all handicap accessible rooms and large bathrooms, Professional Chef provides 3 meals, 3 snacks,, Monthly phone, cable,and internet all included in room charge, in house medical office and a swimming pool! Never have I seen a swimming pool for Elder rehab in an Assisted Living Residence. Mt. Everest Caring provides in house care. Staff does a nice job and truly this is the most important aspect of daily living and peace of mind. Thank you Dr. Bagne for setting a new standard in Elder Housing.
