The Lourdes Senior Community is a lovely facility with a very caring staff. This review is for the [facility removed]. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied. The activities coordinator's love for the residents is very apparent. The food is good and there are options if the main choice is not desired. Every inch of the facility (including mom's room) is as neat as a pin. The aids are very loving, caring, and sweet. They also have on-site doctor visits, which is super convenient. The doctor is also very caring and we were not rushed. One area of struggle we've had is related to meals. We requested several times that they wake mom for lunch and dinner so she doesn't sleep through mealtime, and it doesn't seem that the request for a low sugar diet is always adhered to. (We had similar struggles at her previous place too.) But all in all, I highly recommend the Lourdes community and most importantly, mom loves it there too! She's very happy!... Read more

The independent living building is very nice. The outdoor common areas are beautifully landscaped. Nice trails to walk on if you wish and you can walk down to the lake and sit on a bench. Very peaceful. The inside is also nicely decorated and clean. Apartments are a nice size and easy to move around in. Laundry room is on the same floor. Plenty of machines to use. Dinner in the dining room is a nice time to catch up with friends. The meals are delicious! Lots of activities to sign up for and keep you busy! There are shuttles to take you to stores and different places. It is a lovely place to live.

My dad was a resident at Lourdes Senior Community and the experience was great for him. The manager and her staff were so caring. They took care of everything for my dad and it gave me comfort when I was away from him. I would definitely recommend Lourdes Senior Community to others!

They are very caring and loving. They treat the residents like their own family. We couldn't be happier with the care my Father received there.

Of course I never thought my mother would need a nursing home but as things turned out she did. We looked around and choose Lourdes. We are all glad we did. She need help throughout the day with personal care and the aides and nurses could not be more helpful. She gets up every day, visits with others, staff is friendly and she is doing better. Highly recommend.

We first brought our loved one to Lourdes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on hospice after suffering a brain aneurysm. She had been in ICU at the hospital and then under McLaren hospice care, completely unresponsive with no food or drink for twelve days. After one day at Lourdes, she started coming to. The next day she was asking for food and drink and within a week had started physical therapy. She is a miracle and the staff at Lourdes are miracle workers! She has received the best care, with wonderful caregivers, physical therapists and occupational therapists! She will soon be transitioning to Mendelson Assisted Living within the Lourdes continuum of care and is thrilled that she will be able to have the same therapists once she moves. We have seen other facilities where other family members have received care and none of them compare to Lourdes. Moving her to Lourdes was a family decision, and we are all so happy we chose Lourdes!

Lourdes assisted living home (Mendelson) is a beautiful catholic facility but there are some serious operational flaws If your loved one is still ambulatory then the service/care issues are likely to be less a problem but if your loved one is immobile and requires transfer assistance for all activity (dining, toileting, bed) or other special considerations then you will find many chinks in the armor. The staff performance is inconsistent and some staff members are not very compassionate and a little rough in their handling. Staff often circumvent the call system designed to manage response time. The food quality is pretty poor. The most concerning issue is the fact that management feels that the inadequacy is adequate. Small oversights to them are just that. To the resident though, these little things have significant bearing on their quality of life. Sadly, there is a lack of desire to provide the exceptional care one would expect for such a high price tag. I would encourage anyone considering mendelson to take the time to meet with other residents/family members (other than those recommended by management) and get feedback on their personal experience.

The care at this community declined once my mother came back from being in a rehabilitation community. The food was terrible. They did not try to keep her active, all she did was sit in her room all day. I would not recommend this community.

My overall rating of this property is 5 stars. My mother lives here and is satisfied and happy. It is clean and everyone there is friendly. 5 Stars. I also rated the Care Services and Activities 5 stars. I highly recommend this facility, You will be pleased.

We looked here when we were touring. It was a nice place, but it was just way over budget for us. It was clean, and the staff was friendly, but it isn't an option for us.

We visited this community when we were looking into senior care for a loved one. This was a nice enough looking place, but the rooms available in the assisted living portion seemed very small. It seemed like there would barely be room for a bed and a dresser, let alone any other furniture.

My Mom calls it her all-inclusive resort. No cooking, no cleaning, and no laundry. In the 5 days I was visiting I ate 6 wonderful meals with my parents.. We decided to have 9 over for pizza dinner and used the sun room on the 3rd floor. My Dad looks forward to the excersize classes. It gives me great confort to know my parents are cozy, warm and safe at Lourdes.

We toured Lourdes Senior Community, during our search for a suitable place for our loved one. It was very nice. The cost was a little higher than we were looking for.

A Place for Mom has scored Lourdes Senior Community 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
