Unfortunately this place is ran by a money hungry “Operations manager” and incompetent administrator. It’s obvious what the interest is here and it is not to care for the residents. I went during a power outage and found my mother in the dark asking for help to the bathroom all while the operations manager hid in his office and did not provide any comfort or help to the residents. The poor residents just sit around all day because no activities employees ever stay. The caregivers here really care for the residents but unfortunately burnout because they are so overworked. The turnover rate is high due to the administrator and the environment she has going here. Please take your family member anywhere else. Do your research.

Not enough staff to provide adequate watch over residents with dementia. Belongings often went missing. The smell was overpowering with a disinfectant. Dementia patients cannot organize their clothing. Clothing closets were locked but closed were just piled up on the bottom of the closets instead of hung. Lost all his socks, a Roku, brand new shorts. Everything was marked and after I moved my family member out they still have not reimbursed me for his Roku nor let me know if the found his missing clothing. All his hair combs and brushes were gone and I found his lamp in another persons room. At one point I found a caretaker asleep.

I am disappointed that my family was lied to about operations and routine resources before my mom enrolled. She did not receive water, was informed that residents will only be assisted w/ showers one day a week, and that they did not have towels, bed linens and after a week still has not been provided diabetic meals. Her trash is often overflowing and she sat in urine for 3 hours because she was told that they didn't have extra diapers. She was also informed AFTER becoming a resident that if she needed BP or her sugar levels checked she could call an ambulance. After insisting on sheets and towels a manager grew frustrated and invited her to leave the facility. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with the lack of professionalism, compassion and accountability. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem for elderly and at risk people behind closed doors.

The meals were good, but the cleanliness of the community was not. While our loved one was there we felt the care was minimal. They pretty much just gave our loved one their medication and went on about their day.

Pros: Clean and bright facility with pleasant private rooms, some overlooking a grassy patio area. Cons: In my opinion, the quality of care is not compassionate, overall. If it very important to show up at unannounced times and ask questions about care if you leave a loved one here. We viewed the manager’s emails and phone calls complaining about our family member’s personality very unprofessional. Elderly people require a lot of patience for sure. Don’t work in that industry if you get so frustrated you need to call and VENT about the resident’s character to his/her own children! It’s a shame because I believe a manager/owner sets the tone for how residents are treated. Don’t forget, if you go this route keep a careful check on your resident and keep records of all communications. Know the legal rights of elderly in a nursing home facility.

A Place for Mom has scored Lotus Villa And Memory Care 1.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
