La Marea Senior Living

The food and activities were very good. The surrounding environment is semi-industrial and not conducive to outdoor activity. Promises of regular physical therapy we're not kept. Thankfully, [name removed] was able to return successfully to her own home after 2 months. La Mores did provide a setting for her to recover strength after an acute illness, but home was still the more attractive option.

The facility was short staffed, director left... and we were not informed... no nurse on site as agreed when this happened. Sales said" I'll be there for you " and didn't return emails ... move in was terrible, no follow thru. We moved our Mom after 5 months.

Very nice facility with caring people. They did have some turnover and with new people the same communication wasn't followed. For instance I was not notified when Mom fell and heard it from the doctors office. Other than that have been pleased with overall care provided.

The service I was sold and bought into when touring this facility in October 2023 has failed to meet my expectations. There has been, and continues to be, a constant turnover in staff at every level. Basic services, like showering assistance 2x/week are not being performed. They are understaffed and the staff they are bringing in to fill the gaps don't seem to care about the people in their care. I've been patient for 4 months, giving them the opportunity to get this sinking ship up righted, but now I'm thinking I've made a huge mistake. It costs too much money and grief for lack of service and my continually having to advocate for my mother.

Our move in was a bit bumpy.. Make sure team is aware of your move in time.. However; strong recovery and feel genuine care towards our Mother. Staff is outstanding. Very aesthetically pleasing decor. It was new, less turnover in Memory Care and a good interview process.

Be sure to review with staff the assigned level of assistance to ensure it is not inflated. Also, be aware that for seniors who still enjoy walking, La Marea is not in a location with quiet or interesting places to walk.

We chose La Marea over the many others that we toured because of the cleanliness of the facility and the staff members were all great. The location of the facility is also very convenient to me which helps a lot so that I can visit often. I would highly recommend La Marea to other families who are looking for their loved ones.

We moved our mom here around two months ago .My brother viewed many assisted living before making a decision. From the first tour with [Name Removed] we knew this was a home for mom. Mom did not adjust well at first. [Name Removed] went out of her way to make my mom feel special and welcomed and got her settled. The dedication and sincere caring for the residents by [Name Removed] is top notch. Thank you La Marea for employing great people. The apartments , food , care and activities exceed our families expectations.

I would give La Marea a 10 out of 5 if I could, they are excellent. The staff members that work here are what really sticks out about this facility.

In the market today; I would probably recommend the community to others, for their loved ones. The community has the dining room and recreation room together. My loved one is happy here overall. The staff is very welcoming and for the most part on top of things. The staff communication is very good with the family. The nurse is good at making sure that the requests are fulfilled quickly and in a timely manner. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and the residents have choices for meals, if they ask for them.

My impression of La Marea was that it was a luxurious site for active seniors.
