Everest at Oceanside

Administration turnover has been a problem - re ent new ownership It is a very nice place for the price.

My mom had issues with some of the staff. She even had one very mean woman who forced her to do things and it took us awhile to figure out who it was. The communication between the staff was awful. I finally hung up a whiteboard in her room to leave notes so they all knew. The med techs were the best and there was a handful of staff who treating her very well. I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't need a lot of assistance.

Overall, they have exceeded our expectations. The general staff is very friendly. And the med techs and caregivers are extremely thoughtful, caring, and friendly.

The staff/facility are so caring, patient, kind, responsive and genuinely care for the residents. It's been a year and I have zero complaints.

We were only there 2 weeks. My husband has Alzheimer's and at that time he needed to wear a catheter and they did not know how to take care of him. It turned out to be a very bad experience

We would have to give Everest at Oceanside a 5 for all so far. They have great communication with me for all needs and care and I would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

My loved one is currently a resident at Everest at Oceanside and his experience has been great so far! This facility is a great place for seniors that can live independently. Based on our experience, I would recommend this facility to others.

My father has lived in the facility for 12+ years and has been treated with the utmost respect and kindness. The team worked with me, the daughter, from the beginning when he entered Independence living, then onto Assisted Living, and soon to be in their memory care. I feel blessed to be part of the overall family. The chef prepares terrific meals with lots of options, the cleaning staff are friendly and kind, and the nursing staff are excellent and professional. Everest has taken very good care of my father and I applaud them for dedication and making everyone feel welcomed.

Management and staff are very friendly and open to suggestions. Food has changed and is very good most of the time. New management and chef make it a good experience and a good choice. Also good social director adds more activities recently. I'm very happy I chose this place and expect to stay here until I turn 100 plus in 10 years. I love my apartment with nice windows, lots of sunlight and view looking down on busy traffic that I don't have to deal with and a hillside with skyline above.

Our dear friend passed away while there at Everest at Oceanside in the Memory Care facility. Hospice came in at the end. I was very happy with everything that happened there. It was a wonderful experience with Everest!

It is fairly close to our house. The cost is good. Friendly smiling employees. Residents have said good things to us about Everest. And the facilities do not smell badly like some places do. Cleanliness is very important. And the employees really seem to care about the residents.

The whole team was very helpful during the whole process. Everything was great. The only thing she complained about was the food, but I ate there and I liked it. Staff were wonderful!!!!

They have been wonderful. Everyone has been very responsive and kind. it turned out to be a bigger adjustment than expected and Everest has done an amazing job of caring for [name removed]. All positives on your list

The staff at Everest at Oceanside are extremely friendly and go out of their way to get to know all of the new residents and their needs. Several of them have been with the community for many years, and it shows. The quality of the meals is very good. The move in process was seamless and went very well. Overall, this is an exceptional community and we are very happy. I would highly recommend this community to anyone else who is interested.

Any reviews prior to December 2022 should be taken with a grain of salt. This is not the same place. We were quite happy with assisted living and then memory care but after they sold the care went way downhill and they did not live up to their care contract. Unknown to us, bathing went from twice per week to maybe twice in a month. My parent was not receiving medications as ordered by the doctor. At one point it seemed half the residents had visible bruises. Activities have also been cut. The devoted staff seemed to try their best but told us how short-staffed they are still in 2023. Management refuses to follow-up in a timely manner.

Unfortunately, this was a wonderful place when it was Merrill Gardens but since it was sold and became Everest, the care that my loved one has received has gone down hill. Promises made about minimal changes haven't been kept. I have read some previous recent reviews with the same experience. I am concerned that my loved one is not receiving the same level of care as in the past. Very disappointing and very concerned.

My friend says it's very friendly and she LOVES the meals--the variety and the taste.She exclaims over how much she likes it. She is mainly interested in arts and crafts and recently told me they advertised painting with acrylic paints but it was watercolors again; they didn't do what they advertised.

We were at another facility, and my loved one needed another level of care. We picked this community because, I was satisfied with facility,and we had multiple visits to Truewood prior to moving in, and we felt comfortable. Overall, we are happy with the care, that my loved one is receiving. I was pleased with [name removed] from A Place for Mom, who was amazing.
