I know they were short-staffed. And I know Covid had a lot to do with it. We had to make appointments to go and visit, and we couldn't see her room. It was just kind of unhandy. And my loved one needed a little more attention than I thought they were able to provide.

I enjoyed the staff and the residents, but you could tell that the owners did not put much money back into the facility. It was pretty run down, with older furniture with rips and tears and poor lighting in the little common areas. The siding was green and needed to be power washed. The staff were very nice. Not a lot of activities compared to other communities.

Joy is my home, I have lived here for 16 years. I want to stay here because of the way they care for me. The staff always call me by my name, and if I ask for something, they simply get it for me quickly. The atmosphere is like 1 big family, I have many friends here and we have lots of fun laughing at ourselves and stories about the old days. we go on trips shopping at several stores. the food is good, home-style we sit at our table and they bring the food just like a restaurant. I get help with showers and laundry. Medically they have a centralized computer pharmacy device that gives me my medication at the right time. Personally, I recommend this home to anyone. But we stay full because nobody wants to leave

I would definitely recommend this community because all of the staff are very kind to my mother. She never feels neglected. The place is very clean. The only complaint I can think of is with the meals, they don't have enough fresh fruit and vegetables. I have to take them for her myself. The community has a mixture of activities available at all times. Great community overall.

Overall we have been very pleased. The only thing that we are most disappointed in is the food. Everything else has been going great. My mom has adjusted. They do offer activities here. They have bingo, movies, and they walk around the park. I just wish they had more activities. The location is good. The Joy Assisted Living is a really good community. We are just really pleased with this community.

They are very good at keeping an eye on mom, being there when she needs them, give her all her medications on time, etc. They notify me proactively of anything I need to know about. I don't have anything but praise to offer up for Joy Assisted Living, they have really been wonderful.

A Place for Mom has scored Joy Assisted Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
