The food is pretty good as well. Fair amount of activities, trips. It's a real nice place. We picked this community from the pictures. Some places had outdated rooms, looked dreary. This place was beautiful and the price was comparable to outdated ones... Read more

I am very pleased with my choice. The staff and administration are very approachable. My mom and aunt like it there. I would recommend it to other families.

I toured Indigo at Carolina Forest and I loved it! I even put a deposit down on a one bedroom apartment for my loved one. But after sending her pictures, she turned it down due to location of grab bars in the bathroom.
This is a beautiful community. I have already recommend the community to others for their loved one, and I will continue to recommend them. The food is great! It is like country club food and dining. Everything is done amazingly well. [name removed] has gone above and beyond during the tour and even after during the respite care of my loved one in communicating with us. They have a wide variety of activities daily and there is a great calendar of activities that is provided to the residents. They have wonderful holiday celebrations and themes, ice cream socials, and everything they do is gorgeous. This would be my first choice for my loved one if they would need assisted living.

The caregivers are not trained. They don't know how to assist my loved one in showering. The private Occupational Therapists we've brought in are having to train Indigo's care staff. Instead of showering my loved one twice a week like they're supposed to, they're only doing so once every two weeks, yet they're charging us for extra services. He needs assistance getting dressed, and sometimes they wait so late to help him that he misses breakfast. He's a diabetic, so that is not okay and shows a lack of organization and planning. They said they hired a new activities director, but their idea of an activity is getting everybody together to watch Jeopardy. Initially they promised off-site activities, and there have only been two since the beginning of October. There are minimal activities during the week, and no activities and low staff coverage on the weekends. I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Indigo. We are just not seeing results after bringing our concerns to them. The only good thing I can say about the place is the food service is good, and the rooms are nice.
Indigo at Carolina Forest is a brand new community and a really nice pretty place. The staff we have interacted with have been extremely nice and friendly. The chef [name removed] is absolutely awesome. Our loved one really enjoys playing cards every single day. The only issue we have is sometimes our loved ones do not have hot water and sometimes it is hard to reach staff when we have an issue. Also we think they could benefit from having handrails in the shower and along the hallway walls .

Our family had an in person tour and it was being built during the time, it was a pretty big place and everything is brand new but the setting where the community was - was just not as nice as another community we had toured.
My loved one just moved in to Indigo at Carolina Forest after her husband passed away. She is doing great considering the circumstances and [name removed] has been amazing to work with so far. The actual facility is not open yet, just the independent villas so we have not had much experience with the staff or anything like that. So far things are going great and this is where she wants to stay.
The people we met on our tour were nice, and everything was fine overall. The facility wasn't finished though, so we didn't spend a lot of time there, and it was kind of hard to get a feel for it. When we found out that the rooms would have just a little refrigerator instead of a full size one, my loved one lost interest.
When we looked at Indigo at Carolina Forest it was not open yet so we could not really get a good feel for what it would be like.
We toured Indigo at Carolina Forest and it was an absolutely lovely place. We met with the chef and all the staff members were great. In order for our loved one to get a balcony, it would have been a very long walk because they only offer them on rooms at the end of the hallways. Also, the balconies are shared by 2 units.

A Place for Mom has scored Indigo at Carolina Forest 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
