Very friendly staff, very easy for new residents to figure out how to use the transportation offered. Meals included restaurant style, beauty shop, and lots of activities! The food is really good, and we can go visit my father in law and have meals with him. There are always activities planned and friendly staff members around. They are remodeling and the new paint and carpets are making it even better. It’s very affordable for him as he only gets social security each month. He is able to be brought to the doctor and grocery stores as well since he no longer has a car.... Read more

I took a tour here in August 2024 and really liked the place. I met some of the residents and they were very nice. The staff from the administration to the house keepers are professional and very knowledgeable. The administration is very helpful and go out of their way to assist us residents and answer any questions we may have.

My dad hasn't lived there for over a year because they were basically taking his money and getting nothing back in return. The food choices we so bad he cooked himself meals. They had poor service, bad food and it was not worth the cost.

I have enjoyed meeting new friends and helping others in the community. The food could be a little more fresh foods ( fruits and vegetables).

I have lived here for 2 years and I absolutely love this place. I get my apartment cleaned once a week, 3 hot meals a day, and the staff makes sure I get to my dialysis appt 3 times a week. Staff works hard to make sure that we all have a safe and clean environment to live in and someone is always available and willing to assist you whenever you need help. I don't have much family here so truly enjoy the opportunity to be apart of a community family that looks out for each other and shows genuine care and concern for one another. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Windlands South is great, all my friends are here. I love the staff, they are kind, friendly, and helpful. I like that I am able to be independent and still have an option for assistance if I need it.

What it has going for it is that it's the most affordable independent living in Nashville. The apartments are fairly clean if they've been updated. The building is in need of repair and updates, particularly some of the hallway, carpets, the doorways, hallways, and paint, the elevators often don't work or just one works with 11 floors of people. There just seems to be too many people there especially since the medicine facility Clothes and all of those people moved into the building. Long wait times for the dining room and very long wait times for the elevators at meals, especially when they are only down to one elevator. The food is very subpar in my opinion.

My wife and I visited this facility and were super impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. [name removed] gave us a tour and I can honestly say the rooms and common areas are well cared for. We were told renovations are coming soon which is a bonus, plus you can't beat the affordability of the place compared with other quotes we received. Overall, excited to hopefully move our father in soon, so he can enjoy all the amenities for himself.

The facility is in a constant state of being dirty because they are understaffed. The tenants are paying for housekeeping but not getting it, due to understaffing. There has been a cookie in the stairwell since my mom moved in [date removed] . I look for it as an indicator of how well they are paying attention to caring for the facility. They had a bedbug outbreak. There is no one to drive the van, so residents cannot go on excursions or to the grocery store. Nothing like what was presented when we were looking at selecting a place. But the positive is Progress Inc., the service that provides assistance with bathing, laundry, etc. They truly seem to care about the residents and do a good job. They tend to pick up the slack for the lack of service on the part of the facility.

This place feels like a home you want to come to & the staff is very caring and friendly. It’s obvious that all the staff cares about elderly. My mom has loved her stay here and has made a lot of wonderful friends. I’m so thankful she found this place and is now thriving.

We moved our mom to Windlands South almost four years ago. We moved right during the pandemic and they couldn’t have been more caring or sensitive to what our loved ones were going through during this difficult time of lockdown! Now the facility as opened up and it’s an even more wonderful place to be! The activities director, is amazing! She puts so much care and attention to the activities and there is always so much going on - from outings to live music to exercise and game playing. They even have theme days that are super fun! All the staff is wonderful too. I feel like my mom is in a great place and we are so happy she made the move.

We moved my dad here and have been very pleased! His views from the top floor are beautiful and the people are so kind. They have made a management change for the better! I believe the chef has been there for over 14 years and the food is his favorite part.

If you are looking for a place for mom, KEEP LOOKING! The management company for this property continues to make one bad decision after another. They recently laid off a GM who cared about the community and knew each and every resident. Since then more of the staff is leaving and most of us are searching for a new home. The place is not only not clean but smells of mold and they just recently failed their quality inspection. There are not enough servers for the meals, housekeepers to clean the rooms nor a shuttle driver as advertised. If you feel my review is harsh, just come sit down and have lunch with the residents and hear how unhappy we are these days.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday Windlands South 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
