5 for all categories. My father is very pleased with the life that he is able to lead there and grateful that we found Maple Downs. My father is one of the Ambassadors at Maple Downs and enjoys meeting with prospective residents and their families to answer questions that they may have. During a recent conversation that we had he commented that he is grateful for the full life that he is able to lead at his age and that it is nothing like the life he would have had if he was still living at home alone. He is aware of the rising cost of living and commented that he is very glad that he no longer has household and automobile expenses.... Read more

We had a great experience at Maple Downs. Both of my parents were here but my dad ended up sick in the hospital. The staff were really great at trying to help my mom out while he was gone even though it is independent living and we really appreciated that. Once he got out we realized that they were going to need more care which is why we moved out. Overall it was a wonderful experience and staff were great.
Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was outstanding, but at the time it was just not what we were needing.
I chose Maple Downs because of the friendliness of the staff members. the overall ambiance of the facility itself, it was warmer than some of the others that I visited in the area, and there was also an opportunity for me to be a volunteer within the community and I am really enjoying that. They have a variety of apartment sizes, it goes from studios to 2 bedroom and they seem to be a good size. I do think that there is room for improvement with activities, but i do think part of it is motivating the residents to go, they seem to be working on it. The overall age of the residents in the community is older than a 55+ community which does make it a little harder to motivate. I would recommend to others looking.

We toured Maple Downs and it was a great tour, you could tell they really wanted us in there. I thought that it was a little pricey for what we would be getting. The studios and 1 bedroom apartments were small. Also, it was an older facility.
Overall, they're very friendly here. They seem helpful. I've only been here a few months. The apartment is fairly nice, but not a lot of detail. It's just there, like land. They're supposed to clean the bathrooms and kitchens once a week, but I've been lucky if they come every other week. I don't participate in too many activities, but they're okay. Mostly because I'm not interested. I'm active enough as it is.

We chose Maple Downs at the time because it had the first opening available. My aunt has a 1 bedroom and it is big enough for her, she needs more care so it's tight with a caregiver in here. It is a very beautiful place, I think the social activities would appeal to most people. They have recently stopped serving breakfast for the residents. I would recommend to others who are looking.

We chose Maple Downs because the facility is more attractive than some others that we saw and it has nice grounds outside and places for residents to walk. The overall experience of it was just better. My mother is in a studio and it is efficient for what she needs. The only issue we had is we moved in during covid so we did not get a very good introduction. I suggest they have residents who currently live there who can be mentors to the new people moving in to help them navigate. I would recommend to others looking.

[name removed] was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The apts are a little small but nice, the building and grounds are beautiful. This is the one place where a group of the residents engaged with Mom and me... Very nice people... Sadly, Mom feels its too far from where she is now.

I chose Maple Downs because of the value for the money. The food here is really good, you have 3 choices every day for each meal and they are chef prepared meals. It is in a great location, close to shopping plaza and is very convenient. I would recommend.

The activities are able to participate in activities again. The restrictions by COVID guidelines limits it to 10 people in a room. I would encourage people to come and look at Maple Downs. The community features ponds and woods. I have nothing to compare this to, due to COVID.

I chose this community because my son and I looked at them all and we chose the same one. The room sizes are very spacious, I also have a balcony. I have no complaints about the food. My favorite part about the community is the friendliness of employees and the residents. I would absolutely recommend Maple Downs.

The community was pretty good unless you needed to hire their outside aids. We didn't feel the aids were adequately trained. The community was normally pretty clean and would have a cleaning crew come in and clean the residents' rooms and do laundry like bedding and towels and such. The staff is all very friendly and are always there to help if you need it. The food is very ok; they need to set up a system where the dinning room service is quicker. They do allow us to eat from our rooms as well. The community did not have a lift available at the time so my husband who was in a wheelchair could not easily get around. We did think Maple Downs was a good value for the price. The first time I walked in, this is where I knew I wanted to be and I am trying to get back in!

Response from Holiday Maple Downs
January 9, 2019Hi there, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. Our manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to us at [removed]. We look forward to hearing from you.
This is a beautiful community and facility. The location and grounds are wonderful, and the program is abundant with offerings. The food looks great, as are the many activities. Like the convenience of nearby shopping and city activities. The tour guide, [Name removed] , is an awesome lady. Thinking about this place, though not ready yet to give up my home.

So far we're only trying to get a lease! It has been a horrible experience. The sales lady stood us up for our appointment and has been completely out of contact the entire day! Voicebox full, no emails or texts returned. After a 3 hour drive for this pre arranged meeting! I had to contact the manager, but at this point I'm reserving additional judgement. We have been given 4 different rates for the same apartment. This should be a transfer from one Holiday Retirement to another. They tell you when you sign and move into one that they can transfer very easily....don't believe anything Maple Downs tells you! Get everything in writing and don't waste your time dealing with their sales dept. their sister complexes don't even have sales people!! They are also charging $1100 for one day of the month in addition to a full months rent!!!!! For a person who has been a Holiday Retirement resident for almost 2 years in another state! Beware of anything they tell you!

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday Maple Downs 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
