These answers are based on my observations when my husband and I went to visit. I will tell you I had a big issue with the medical care from either the doctor or the nurse practitioner. One of them ordered thousands of dollars worth of lab work on my friend who is 94, including every STD you could think of. It was ridiculous and I think is total Medicare fraud. I've been planning on reporting it to Medicare but just haven't gotten around to it.

Highpoint at StoneCrest is a clean, well-designed facility with good amenities. It is well-maintained and clean, but the pool needs more regular cleaning, but still attractive and swimmable. Most of the staff are great, there are always some personalities in every staff. There are some great nurses in assisted living and memory care who truly care for their residents, but also a few who seem problematic. The food was much higher quality a year ago, when my parents first moved in. The quality seems to have slipped since then, but new management took over a couple months ago and seems intent on improving the meals going forward. Excellent passionate dedicated activity coordinator who truly cares about creating engaging fun events. There is live music several times each week, crafting programs, theme/costume parties, trivia nights in the bar, etc...Value for cost a) memory care is a 5. Memory care [fee removed]/mo is more affordable than any other facility we considered for my father. and the quality of care is competent with a few excellent nurses in the staff. Value for cost for independent living is a 4. Overall, my mom is thrilled with the independent living community. for the price, [fee removed]/mo, i would expect better quality meals, on-site medical first aid for independent residents, and better maintained pool. To be fair, the independent living is around half capacity, meaning, the management is likely not yet profitable. So my hope is that once they reach 70%-80% occupancy, they will have larger budgets for food service, pool maintenance, and hopefully a first aid nurse on-duty for the independent residents. (all the nursing staff are assigned to assisted living and memory care, and are not allowed to assist independent residents.) I definitely do recommend the highpoint highly, especially to people looking for a facility which spans independent, assisted living, and memory care, allowing transitions, as necessary, without leaving the facility. One key thing i didn't mention before: when we first visited the highpoint last spring, i was struck by how happy and social all the residents seemed. In other facilities we visited, residents seemed bored, somewhat sad, and were not interacting energetically. Whereas, the highpoint community is very social with active interpersonal engagement, and overall people seem to enjoy being there. My mom loves the community, her new friends, and the social activities, entertainment, etc...My only serious concern at present is the decline in quality of food service over the past year. But that's a fairly easy aspect to improve especially as the facility increases occupancy and thus has higher budgets for resident services.

I would say it is a great community. The staff is friendly and always willing to help residents with all their needs. The community itself is beautifully maintained and always clean. Lots of activities for everyone to join in and fun.

Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Very responsive nursing. Some management are slow to resolve such as ongoing room phone issues. Good value. Would recommend without hesitation.

We have been very happy with Highpoint at StoneCrest since our friend moved in. We had checked out other communities in the area and Highpoint has consistently stayed at number 1 on our list. If we know someone who is looking for a place for themselves or their loved ones, we always recommend this community first.

Hightpoint at StoneCrest was a very nice facility. It was brand new, and I liked it very much. l liked the people who were working there. I liked the room set-up. It was just so new that there were only 4-5 memory care patients at the time, so there was less opportunity for interaction with other residents for our loved one. But that was a few months ago and will be changing as the facility ramps up. I thought it was a very nice facility!

A Place for Mom has scored Highpoint at StoneCrest 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
