***There were only 3 concerns we had while mom was at Heritage Point: 1) POA information in the paper chart was forever being changed without our knowledge. 2) My mother was released for a overnight visit. Beautiful facility-not enough help!

I visited seven different facilities before i decided that Heritage Point would be the perfect place for my husband. The first few weeks went very well. After being there for approximately six weeks, things went downhill. Personally, I would not recommend heritage point for anyone

Quality Care

What we like the most about Heritage Point Transitional community is knowing that our dad is safe and well taken care of. We never go and find him unclean, which is super! We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Would not recommend

We recently had the unfortunate experience of entrusting a loved one to Heritage Point. Communication between management and family members is almost nonexistent. It appears that the solution to being short staffed is to place residents on medication without prior approval or discussion with family. I found out by chance about this after a fall that sent my father to the hospital. Nobody was monitoring for side effects. Several calls to the Health Service Director went unreturned. Although the prescribing nurse (who is off site) confirmed the medication was being discontinued it was not. There was a rapid decline from the time the medication was prescribed and my father's ultimate passing less than 2 weeks later. Total time spent in the facility was 61 days. If you are looing for quality care, do not be fooled at how nice the facility looks.

Because she is our mom.

Heritage Point has been very quick to respond to our inquiry, then setting up a tour for us. The very next week we were able to comfortably move Mom to her new surroundings. She seems and says she is happy there. What else could a family ask for their loved one? ?

tour review

Our family had an in person tour with Heritage Point Transitional Assisted Living and it is very clean. Well organized, welcoming staff. We were both impressed. We might have gone with them but it is located on the far northside of town and would have taken us a while to get there, especially if we needed to get there in a hurry. It is very close to St. Joseph Med Center (hospital) and that was a plus also.

Wouldn’t put your love one there!!

We placed our mom there in [date removed]. Thought this was a great place but it wasn’t. They had a big turn over there with staff. They falsified my moms records in saying she was receiving her thyroid medication which she wasn’t getting. How could you go in with a 90 day Rx and in April when I new she needed a new Rx they told me she had like 60 of them still. Both my sister and myself kept asking and we could see she was declining. [date removed] I brought in a new Rx and I said it’s the first we are starting with a new one. I asked for the old bottle which they gave me and I counted them there were still 50 pills. So how could a Rx for 90 days in Jan still have 50 left in it. Our mom passed away at the [date removed]. From the time we put our mom there all I Saw was she was declining and the really there wasn’t anybody that was running the place.

Personalized care that provides peace of mind

We chose Heritage Point because of the fact that they worked with us very quickly and understood our situation and were able to get him in and take care of his needs. [name removed] was amazing and made us feel like she actually cared. The people who work here are involved and really care for their residents. They get to know each of resident on a personal level. They do a great job of getting into their world. I would definitely recommend Heritage Point to others.

We were very impressed with our tour at Heritage Point. We liked everything that we saw including the facility and the staff. Unfortunately the location was too far and we needed something close by so we could get there quickly and visit more often.

Don't put your loved one there

They have had a huge turnover since my loved one went in. There are about two staff who I really trust and the others I have not gotten close with it at all. The activity director recently left. I would say to not go to this community. It is very hard to communicate with the staff. Some of the nurses are very hard to communicate with and can be a pain. They have to have things spelled out from the Dr. office and if it is not worded right it is sent back. There is one caregiver there and she is wonderful and one of the only reasons that my loved one is still here. I was told that there was a doctor on staff but it is really a nurse practitioner. I requested for my loved one to not see the nurse practitioner and they had my loved one seeing the nurse anyway. It has not been a good experience but I'm afraid to move my loved one due to it making it worse.

Place for Help

They're very professional. They were very easy to work with going through the admissions process. There was really no other place available that would take my loved one on a really short notice, which we needed due to a life circumstance. They really helped me out a lot, especially the director. He really helped guide me to the people who could help me get that done, which I really appreciated.

Wish i would of found this community sooner

Heritage Point is a very clean community we have had no complaints so far. The staff members and the care services are wonderful. Sometimes our loved one is not a fan of the food, and if he doesn't like what they are serving they get hot dogs or grilled cheese. We have been so thrilled with the activities so far, they take the residents out on small day trips.

Mom is happy here

My mom is so happy here at Heritage Point. It is very evident how much they care about their residents .I cannot complain one bit about the care that my mom receives here and the great communication from staff. It has truly been a lifesaver. They have a chef from France that prepares all of the meals and they are really good. She has a specialized diet and they prepare it as needed, so they are very accommodating. They also have therapy on site which has been helpful. They have a sensory room as well for residents and it looks really cool. They have just been incredible throughout the whole pandemic and I would highly recommend them.

If I had it to do over again I would still choose Heritage Point

We chose Heritage Point because it was recommended to us and when we went to talk to the administrator it seemed like it was a very well cared place and seemed like the best choice for us. It is very clean and there is no odor when you walk in. I think they do a wonderful job in trying to get my brother involved in activities provided. My brother really enjoys the meals, they have a wonderful chef on site and I have actually had one of the deserts he made and it was to die for. They are starting to relax covid rules so we are able to visit for an hour in his room. I am looking forward to the day that I am able to take him out again. I do think sometimes that communication could be a little better from the staff. If I had it to do over again I would still choose Heritage Point.

Highly recommend

The cleanliness of the facility would be a five plus, and the staff members are wonderful we have absolutely no complaints to say. Our loved one even though he has Alzheimer's is very happy, they feed the residents so well, they have three meals, three snacks 24 hours a day so they can get something to eat at anytime. The meals are well planned, and very tasty according to our loved one, they are just awesome. Everyone we have met has been absolutely friendly, wonderful, caring and loving. They make sure that the families are well informed of all the operations that is going on surrounding covid. They have a Facebook page where they are constantly putting up new pictures of the residents, they have a lot of activities for them. They make sure to keep the families well informed, and they try to including all the residents in the photos so we are getting to see new pictures of our dad. We would give them a 10 out of 10.

An excellent experience

We chose Heritage Point because we needed someplace quickly and they had availability and were able to take her. We also wanted to keep her in the same area so the facility was in a good location. They went above and beyond to help us make arrangements especially since we had to move her during covid. The director and the lady at the main desk were extremely helpful and friendly. I got constant communication from them, they called me right away if anything happened or changed and were always on top of things and made sure I knew everything that was going on. We felt that this was a top notch facility, I would recommend them to others looking.

The Worst Experience of Our Lives

The community was allowing only window visits. The staff never accommodated my loved one with helping to guide them to eat due to a vision impairment. The community denied knowing the specifics I told the community about my loved one. We had to ask for all details of why my loved one had food on themselves. The community guaranteed the care my loved one was supposed to receive. I feel the community's only concern was they payment that we were making.
