I don't require any specific care - it's a retirement community but there are a small # of residents that use assisted living & some that have helpers but that may be 1/4 or less of the total residents. They have a lot of activities & fun & interesting events. The pricing is reasonable. Some apartments have been renovated. The building is old but the location is beautiful with outdoor patios both in front & back sides. The biggest attraction are the residents. There are a lot of really nice, friendly people here. This has been my 1st experience with a retirement community so I have nothing to compare it to other than I visited 8 different ones thru A Place For Mom before I chose Hammond Glen.

I would say this is a group of very friendly and welcoming staff members and residents, so it was easy to adapt to a new place to live. The staff is very helpful. There are also a variety of activities for residents to participate in during the day, as well as after dinner for anyone who is interested. There is also a happy hour once a week with a live band playing and residents dancing with each other. It is a place I would definitely recommend.

I love it at Hammond Glen. I knew when I took my tour this is where I wanted to be. The residents seemed so happy and were very friendly. I felt very comfortable here [name removed] and his staff do everything possible to make us feel safe, happy and comfortable. I don't know how Bruce keeps his sanity! I don't see how he has time for himself. He is always in the building taking care of everything. His staff are wonderful and the best employees in Atlanta. I take advantage of the activities. We have a new activity director and she is going to be special. I have no complaints I enjoy living here and plan to be here as long as possible. Hammond Glen has a family atmosphere. There is something for everyone

I would recommend it if the person you are looking for will take advantage of everything. I picked this location because of everything available to my parents.

My wife and I made the mistake of making a reservation for my mother to stay here five months ago. Now, despite numerous calls to multiple points of contact over the last week, we can't get so much as a return call from anyone. As such, my wife and I now have to cancel, at considerable cost, the overseas trip we had planned for the last six months. My suggestion: Stay as far away from this place as humanly possible. The lack of even the most basic professionalism is beyond stunning.

My loved one was previously a resident at Hammond Glen Retirement Community. She was a resident at this facility for several years and had been very happy there. However, we felt forced out by management due to a monthly rent increase that was over $[removed] that they arbitrarily were going to levy on my loved one following a hospitalization and rehab stay. My loved one had essentially returned to her previous level of self-care. They failed to do their own assessment of her, instead they exaggerated her level of need to justify the increase in charge. We knew of another resident that had the same experience at the same time. Ultimately, we moved my loved one out of Hammond Glen. She went into hospice one month later. She was depressed and demoralized by the experience, which I believe hastened her death.
Before moving in, please arrange for basic welcome and hospitality contact

People are very friendly & everyone is helpful. They are a little slow on maintenance response. Regarding Activities I haven't participated in too many since I am still unpacking. But at meals everyone seems to talk about what they will be participating in & are looking forward to. I'm on the younger side of the population. I'm very pleased I chose this community. I forgot to mention the location. Turning onto the long Hammond Glen drive with large trees as tall as the bldg on both sides & surrounding the 11 story building makes it feel like you're in your own special world. I chose an apartment that overlooks the wooded side. This was one of the features that influenced me to choose Hammond Glen. Yet you're only 1 block off Roswell Rd & many shopping centers along that road. Also, the Front Desk is 24 hrs/day so someone is always available if you need assistance but then many places probably offer this.

If you fall they call an ambulance, they are not allowed to move you. The meal menu is limited with no method of input. The social activities are difficult to participate.

When my daughter saw this place she called me and said: "Mami, we are not looking at any more places, I have found the place for you!" Hammond Glen is very user friendly, and the main entrance is monitored 24-hr. a day. Transportation is provided to doctors' appointments, pharmacies, shopping centers, Kroger and Publix. The facility is setback far from the main roads and is surrounded by dense foliage and mature tall trees along the entire perimeter so that you don't hear the Highway noise and you feel like you are in your own secluded island paradise. It is very peaceful here. All the office and administrative staff are extremely hard-working, very nice, and try to assist the residents with anything that they need. No troubles, problems or complaints fall on deaf ears. Someone will always help you. The meals are delicious and if you don't think that you would like the special of the day, there are plenty of alternatives to choose from. The desserts and cookies are divine. The servers and kitchen staff work very hard to accommodate the residents and make sure that everyone is taken care of. Everyone sits down at the tables and the servers take the orders from each and every one of us, including drinks, coffee and tea. It is exactly like a sit down restaurant, except that you do not get a bill at the end of your meal. Residents are not permitted to give gratuities to the staff, and they will not take them. Staff is always happy to help us and are always smiling. Although two-bedroom apartments are available, the majority are one-bedroom apartments. Each has a very large walk-in closet with plenty of space to get dressed. Additional storage space is provided on the same floor that you reside. All apartments open to a nice balcony that is big enough to accommodate outdoor furniture and a vast array of plants. Washers and driers are located on all floors and can be operated every day at no cost. Apartment floors are vacuumed or cleaned once a week. Activities at Hammond Glen are many and of all varieties. There are different card games, bingo, movies 2 times a day, plays, Bible studies, worship services, exercise routines every day with different teachers, a gymnasium, a Book Club, a knitting group, and a resident-run store with plenty of necessary toiletries, plus drinks and many snacks all at extremely low prices. There is a physical therapist on site who works with the residents needing assistance. And last but not least, the residents are extremely nice to all new occupants and make a concerted effort to make them feel welcomed.

It was a dump. It was awful. The place looked like it was falling apart. It was terrible.
We chose Hammond Glen because of the closeness to me, the view from her room (she overlooks a forest reserve) so it is very quiet and private, And also the staff were bending over backwards. They do whatever they can to make her happy and will stay late to help with any issues. The maintenance man is very quick to fix anything that needs fixing - he is very on top of it. She tell me how much she loves it here and that gives me peace of mind. We would absolutely recommend them to other families.

[name removed] has worked closely with me and my family to accommodate my special needs and wishes during the entire process of moving to Hammond Glen. every member of the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. my apartment is perfect for me. I'm very happy I finally got here!
Our family had an in person tour and it was not a great impression at all, it is dated and dingy. There is a dumpster right in the parking lot which is the first thing you see, and the entire facility just did not have that warm and welcoming feel to it. The apartment that was shown to us had what they called a balcony, but it was on the first floor and it was more like a slab of concrete that could maybe fit on chair and it did not have a good view at all.
